1. I've purchased/rented books and eBooks from Amazon. I did homework on a two screens (eBook on one screen and homework on the other screen). It was very efficient!!! Also, the "search" functions on the eBooks will save you a lot of time. I used it for History and searched names; everything related to that name would pop-up and be highlighted. Made my essay writing so much easier!
2. here is the screen shot if you can see it. Maybe it was just an error.
3. Hi all, I'm a little confused or may be overthinking but would some please help me understand the application and start periods for UT? I received an email today with a reminder that Fall Application period deadline is Jan 15. Does this mean if accepted, your start month will be August 2017?
4. I worked full-time, however only took AP1 and that took all my time. I am a mother of two and wife so my situation is prob different from yours. If you don't have other responsibilities you can totally do it. Download the Pearson Module app on your phone, that will help you a ton!
5. Use the school science center and tutors. I started off shaky and got a 71 on my 1st lecture. Once I started using the science center and tutor my grades went up from there to high B and A's. Get in there, meet some people and form a study group! Good luck!
6. Working a full-time job so this is my timeline. If anyone has any suggestions to tweak this, please chime in. Of course, this is just mapped out in my head, life happens and this may end up a totally different story. It took me 12 years to go back to college, it was always in the back of my head but I wanted my kids to be a little older and more independent before I took the plunge. #1 ENG1, HIST 1 COMPLETED #2 AP1 COMPLETED Summer Psych & Arts (not sure which one yet) IN-PROGESS #3 AP2 & Govt1 Winter Mini - Govt 2 #4 Micro & ENG2 May mini Hist2 Summer Phil & Soc #5 Chem & Human Growth & Development Apply for BSN Program Mini - Elective #6 statistics & Phil
7. There's a chapter in AP1 that scratches the surface of Chemistry. I'm taking AP2 in the fall . I still need to take Microbiology and Chemistry. Not sure how to pair them up so I'd like to read some opinions as well.
8. Non Traditional here! I'm 34 (35 in Sept), work full-time , married, kids (13/9); this is tough! Finishing my 2nd semester of pre-reqs; only took AP1 this semester - so glad! I started off shaky because I didn't know how to study but once I became a regular at the science center my grades went up dramatically. If your school has tutor services, take advantage! I'm such a regular my tutor text me on exam days wishing me luck :-) On the flip side, more time at the science center means less time at home with the family. My husband works long hours so I always feel guilty leaving the kids. My kids are awesome little humans, my daughter is so inspired to get into the medical field; we are constantly discussing A&P. I have another year or more of pre-reqs to do before I can apply to a BSN program. It takes longer with a full-time job and also I want to take my science classes separate from each other. Good luck to everyone - just keep at it, we'll get there one day!
9. Hello all, I am trying to determine what math skills to study for the math portion of HESI. I am considering taking intermediate algebra over the summer. Do you think this course is sufficient to help prepare? I haven't taken any math pre-Reqs and barely passed the math TSI (been out of school 12 yrs). Thank you in advance for your suggestions! Good day!
10. Would anyone be so kind to share what resources they used to study besides text book and lecture ? Much thanks
11. Hi, do you have any study tips to suggest. I will be taking AP1 this Spring. Thanks
12. Really good feedback , thanks everyone!
13. Reading and chapter review every other day. Answer questions on chapter discussions then you have to respond to classmates answers. Book reviews and quizzes. Ok do to for anything that doesn't require or lab ; I wouldn't suggest online math classes unless you're a math whiz ,lol.
14. Same here ...full-time working mom & wife. I take 2 classes in-person and one online. I started with two classes then added on the 3rd as an online 8-week course. LOTS of reading. I go in early to work to read and study just so I can still have time with the kids in the evening. Night classes are on Tuesday & Thursday then a Saturday class. I'm looking forward to being a full time student when I get in a nursing program. We'll be broke because I'll have to quit but if we have food, lights & water then we'll make do. It's only temporary. I've worked for the last 13 years so it will be a major adjustment.
