    The class average for my micro test was 75. I was really shocked. I thought it was pretty easy although I got an 89.5. One girl got a 50. She's like "It's only going to get harder from here" and I'm like "Why?" And she responded, "Because now all of this information should be completely new to you." I'll just have to study harder.

    there were 8 F's and 5 D's in our class, 3 A's, 5 B's and I forgot how many C's. The average is 70.....teacher is very bummed out and wasn't happy!
    My 3 lab "partners" (bad students/lab partners) didn't do well at all. One was missing in action today so we had to work on stuff as a group of 3. One was pleasant but the other took her opportunity to get EXTRA crabby with me....she was rude (she usually is and I think she never liked me from the get-go) and ******* at me twice....the second time I lost it with her and told her that I had enough of her behavior and that I wasn't taking it anymore from her..... I told her off so bad she ran to the teacher and complained.... I will be sitting somewhere else from now on which is fine with me.... If you do well others will punish you and will give you a hard time but I am glad that I told her off.
    You did very well according to the circumstances with your teacher and the crazy test questions. Keep up the good work. I will keep going as I have despite that ridiculous incident. Teacher said that tempers are flaring because of the tests but I told the teacher that this woman cannot let it out on me! What a day!!!!!

    I'm not much of a "working group" kind of person. I'd rather do things by myself in lab but since we split up the work it isn't that bad. My teacher was kind of bummed out too. I didn't study was much as I should of last semester so I'm really happy. Now I'm onto worrying about my test in Organic Chem next Wednesday. I'm so stressed my neck is absolutely killing me. I need to make an appt w/ my chiropractor for an adjustment. I got a massage Tues (after my micro test) but my neck is back where it orignally was.

    I have this wonderful lavender neckwrap....you heat it up in the microwave and wrap it around your neck like a collar. Something like that might ease the tension and the pain. Please go and get it looked at by a doctor and get some painkillers.
    Organic Chem is not easy, I had a very crappy prof and made the highest grade, a B
    You hang in there and get some good rest and don't forget to eat so that you have energy.
    I will take a nice hot bath....the kids don't have school tomorrow and we can sleep in some.

    I'll go and look for the neckwrap this weekend. Thanks for the advice. Hope you had a good "sleep in".

    Well, my first lab practical is tomorrow morning at 8:10am. I am freakin' nervous because she wants tons and tons of detail--if she asks function of something, say, ocular lens--you cannot just say "magnifies the specimen which was sent through the body tube." You have to say EVERY THING YOU POSSIBLY KNOW about the ocular lens. OOK. The microscope is what scares me the most because we never went over the parts and functions really in class, we just kind of started doing everything.
    It's going to be 25 stations, 2 at each station (2 minutes) and then we will have an extra sheet that we need to answer questions on while answering questions at stations . Everyone says that lab is generally one grade higher, but this woman is nuts I think.

    Wish me luck. I don't even know how to study for this really because I have NO IDEA what she will ask. We did a power point review the other day in class, but then I went online this weekend and she added extra slides of "possible questions," which we have never gone over before, never had a lab on, never even heard of, so I hope that was a mistake!

    Hey everyone!

    Long time I have not been in the site. School is going just okay. Micro is beating my rear and didn't do too peachy on my practical. Happy Valentine's day eveyone!

    Happy Valentine's Day!

    I just did my lab test last night. She gave us a study guide, but we had to look up all the questions. Probably 80% of it wasn't covered in class. Thankfully, I remembered the dyes for all of the stains we've done. (Who knew we'd have to know names like crystal violet, carbolfuchsin, safranin, etc?) But it was still pretty tough, so I'm kinda worried about my grade.

    I forgot all about the capsule stain and India Ink, so I ended up putting crystal violet instead of India ink for "What dye was used here?" on a miscroscope slide and then I put a Gram positive stain instead of capsule stain for "What stain is this?" on another slide. Ugh.

    I'll get my grade on Wednesday.

    Happy belated Valentine's Day to you, too. Please keep your head up, this class is hard and harder for you because of your terrible start with that crazy teacher. Do your best and let us know how you are doing. {{{{HUG}}}}
