OntheRoad, thank you first of all for your support.

As for your instructor she is probably related to my ex-instructor. Like I had mentioned before she enjoyed putting down the nursing field ets.... I took her first exam and got a C, there were only 2 b's and the rest were F's. I talked to the head of the department (who let me transfer to her class) and she was reprimanded. Last I heard is that she has soften quit a bit and the students are feeling better. This crazy instructor treated us as if we were in the field already and going for our PhD's or something. She didn't go by our book and rather brought in hers from grad school. She was ridiculously difficult.

Good luck

That was how my A&PI instructor was. She brought her tests from the chiropractor's school she attended. VERY detailed. Then she would "review" for the tests. Yeah, right! That is when she would berate the whole class on how we should KNOW the information that she NEVER taught us.

If I asked questions pertaining to the information, she would say, "Do you want to know that or what is going to be on the test?" Well, I think it is more importtnat to grasp concepts and be able to apply them, than it is just to get a good grade on an exam. If you understand the information, typically good grades follow.

Anyway, I am so glad you got out of that class. It is so frustrating to be uncomfortable in a class.

I had my second micro test on Tueday. I pulled off an A, thank God! My brain isn't working right since my dad's death. I am making goofy mistakes. It is so embarrassing.

I am sending another GOOD LUCK to everyone! :wink2:

Congratulations on your HIGH test score. Keep it up.

make sure you print out a copy :rotfl:

well i am soooooooo happy for you, dpa and all, sounds just as crazy as my a&p class:p

make sure you ask her about the dpa though, she might put the same darn question on the final....that's how my a&p teacher did it, the most controversial questions re-appeared on the final....can't trust anyone like that!

Congratulations on the A, I am proud of you!

Yeah, the weirdo instructor I had was too odd for me. She did not encourage class participation where the one I have now......totally does.

The other didn't like to be bothered with questions either :uhoh3:

If you cannot get out than do the best you can. I will be praying for you!

Good luck

It does sound like the may be twins in fact LOL! I am going to try to talk to her again, then the department head, and if needs be the chancellor... I may be able to get a group together even. Thanks for the prayers... I am going to need them.

Forgot to ask, how do you like the nutrition class, is it very demanding? I still have to take it.

Our nutrition is a self paced module. I've been working on it intensively through a book, cd and then take exams. I love it :clown:

My professor posted this tonight on the website:

" Dear Micro lecture class,

I have permission from the department director to modify my grading policy. I am interested in your feedback/thoughts.

a) I can allow students to exempt the cum. final meaning if you are satisfied with your score at the end of the term you might not have to take the cum final.

b) or I can drop your lowest test score and increase the weight of the cum final to 300 points rather than 200. Effectively this would substitute the cum. final score for the lowest test score.

c) or some combination of the above..ie. average the lowest test score with the final cum exam score..

Also, please be thinking about what infectious disease you mightg want to do your presentations on -- first come first serve I will post a list of possibilites for you to consider.

See you Monday/Tuesday!!!"

I would like to go with A.

What infectious disease should I do?

I would like to learn more about necrotizing fasciitis, so I am going to ask if that is a possibility. If not, what else is cool?

Moon-

I can't remember if you are the one at spjc..but if so, wow, yes option a is pretty cool if you aced the first exam, I'm sure you'll do fabulous from this point on. Good luck with that. I'm doing my paper on the bird flu...it's current, it's what people are talking/thinking about and I think it would be interesting.

I've got my first quix today. I'm kind of nervous about it because the teacher glosses over everything EXCEPT for things she really has a big interest in, like lichens and azolla. So, it's kind of hard to figure out what will be on the quiz.
