well, it's about time to start this thread, i think!! let's get our bearings and see who all is in the same boat in january!

i finish up the first half of a&p with a comprehensive exam on december 13th and then it's right into the physiology portion of the course. we actually are starting special senses this week and next but will only get the first chapter done.

so .... who else is in? when did you take a&p i and how is your course set up? do you have the prof you want and are you looking forward to it?

i will include the sites from the a&p i thread that might be helpful! i will add/subtract as i get a chance to look through them a bit more or if anyone else suggests some good sites.

Hi all,

It's been since I've posted also. We started with Reproduction concentrating first on the male and then female and last human reproduction. Boy is this stuff graphic! I can't even open my book at work to study!!!! It's so funny we're studying this right now. My sister just gave birth and I was there through the whole delivery so to be able to apply what I learned was awesome. So far, we've had two take home quizzes. We get three midterm test and if you do good on the midterm tests, you don't have to take the final. We also have to do a paper on Birth control, however, he hasn't emailed anything to the class and this assignment is due next week.

In A&P I, the instructor wrote all of the notes on the board and we copied and studied them. He also showed us slides and diagrams were applicable and explained what the notes pertained to. I never bought the book last semester and got a B. This semester, you have to have the book. This instructor mainly lectures and it's up to you to study and be ready for the test. I think that sucks because not everything ithat is read s going to be on the test and if you're trying to study everything, you have a bunch of information swiriling in your head and then you get anxiety trying to remember what applies to what and then panic and ........ you get the idea.

I guess I just have to study really hard, I just don't know what to study. I'm not used to learning this way.

Hope everyone else is doing well and maintaining.......

Hey guys!!

Well, this is the first time this semester I've had a moment to post. In addition to working FT and being a PT student, my family and I are also in the moving process. So, it's been nothing but study, study, study, pack, pack, study, pack, study..... Can you say, "STRESS!!"?

Anyway, I just finished my first exams in lecture and lab. The exams were on the blood and the heart. I got the highest grade in the class on my lab exam (100%) and a 96% on my lecture exam. So, at least my studying is paying off! :specs:

We just started arteries, veins and capillaries. LOTS to memorize! Reminds me of when we had to memorize the muscles! Yikes!

Back to packing!

Angel

Congratulations on your tests.

I have my 2nd lecture exam tomorrow (mainly cardio) and my 2nd lab on Thursday. After the rough start I got off too in lab (D), I HAVE to do decent on these two exams, or I risk not passing the class....

Praise the Lord!

I got 104 on my lecture exam, the highest in the class. I will find out what I got on the lab on Wednesday. God is awesome........................

Good luck to you. You can do it!

Happy Valentine's Day every one! I get to celebrate by going to A&P tonight, lol.

I got my quiz grade on the heart and blood vessels last night. (Again, I went to my professor's office before Micro, haha.) I got a 95%!!!! I really thought I missed 3 or 4, but I guess I only missed one!

Congratulations, what an awesome job!!!!!

Thank You!

I have a lab practical and a lecture test next week. Wish me luck, because im goning to need it!

Good luck!

I wish you do well.

Think positive and you will do well!

Just got my first test back and got a 151/150 as I got the extra credit right but forgot to add the vlaves to a drawing of a vein- duh!! And I even left one unanswered and I had rechecked the test and missed it twice!! But I will take that grade.

Professor okayed me doing the extra credit report on Toxoplasmosis so that should gave me 40-50 pts extra in the end.

Next week is the veins/arteries test then week after is chapters 16-17-18 test. Ugghhhh...... I pRAY that you are right on the ease- I have not really studied.

And good news- got an interview at a college tomorrow about getting into a bahcelors nursing program instead of the Associates at the comm. college. Keep your fingers crossed1
