Well, in my A&P I, we had to write a paper on the spcial senses (any aspect of it) because there wasn't enough time to get to that chapter. Otherwise, I haven't heard of writing a paper as a regular part of the class.
The paper has to be 2-5 pages, on either an important ion of the body, or comparing two systems of the body, on all levels (ie, comparing the cells of the respiratory and cardio systems, comparing tissues of both systems, organs, etc). I decided to do my paper on calcium, and started on it today, as it's do in a couple weeks. If I get it done early, he'll read over it and tell me if I need to make any corrections. It's worth 30 points.

I did it!!!!! Going into this week of midterms I was worried I was barely (or not even) going to pass A&P. Well, I took my lecture exam on Tuesday and got a 76%, I studied and would have like better. Yesterday I had my lab exam, and I got a 92%!!! This puts my overall A&P score at a 97%, an A on my school's scale! I never thought I'd carry an A in A&P, I hope I can maintain it!! :hatparty: :hatparty:

Keep up the excellent work! That "A" will look so pretty on your transcript.

We don't have to do a paper in my class. I'm happy about that

I took my first set of tests. 78% on the lecture and 68% on lab. Not bad. I know I'll do better the second time around. I didn't know what to expect and now I do.

Does anyone else have teachers that grade on spelling? I can't spell. That's what killed me on the lab practicle.

Also, my professor's requiring us to write a paper for A&P, anyone else have to do this?
Yep. I have to write 3 this semester. They aren't that bad. I did my first one already and got 25/25. I figured that she was an easy grade, but when half of my class was complaining about low grades I became rathe proud of myself. Below are our requirement.s

[color=#00bfff]i was nervous about getting graded on spelling too, because i am a horrible speller! spell check on word usually saves my butt, but lab exams are hand written. just had my first one last tuesday and the spelling wasn't a problem because i studied the words so much! maybe next time write the words out? i'm sure you did fabulous!! :spin:

[color=#00bfff]i have a lecture test about the heart this week and i'm so confused! does anybody have any tips or website that could help me out?

[color=#00bfff]happy monday- have a great week guys!

My teacher takes half off for misspelled words. But, if you spell the same word wrong over and over on one quiz/test she only take off for it the one time. What I always have to do is write the words a few times til I remember how to spell them. Good luck.

My lab teacher's policy on misspelled words is that we're allowed one mispelled word per test that will not be counted off. Our mispelling of this word cannot change the pronunciation of the word. All mistakes after the first one are half off.

Wow. I guess I'm lucky. None of my teachers count off for spelling. As long as the word you're trying to spell looks pretty similar to the correct one, you still get credit.

My lab professor does not take points if you spell the word close enough to answer.

Hello everyone!!! I am new to this board but wanted to sneak in here as I am taking A&P too. I am doing ok in the class. I have a B so far. I have two more tests to go and as long as I can get at least a C on both of those tests I will maintain my B. I could get an A but I would have to get really high A's on my last two exams and I am just not sure that is possible. I will try but I will also be ok if I end up with a B. Good luck to all of you and I am so happy that I found you all.

You can get the A. Last semester, I had a B in midterm and ended up with an A- at the end. Just think how prettier the A will look on that transcript.

The impossible happened!! My test was postponed until next wednesday which means I have an extra week to study the 150 veins and arteries! I am so relieved!!! I was praying and hoping and wishing class would be cancelled for something and it was. Unfortunately the professor is sick and I am worried about her as she never calls out and never gets sick. So hopefully she will be okay and the test will be a breeze with an extra 7 days to study for it!

I hope she is ok. But, how lucky are you!! I wish our's was postponed. I took it today, wasn't as bad as I thought, I think I pulled and A. We'll see in about a week. Hope midterms are going well for everyone!!

I am so upset. I have gotten an "A" on my first 2 quizzes and first test (on the endocrine system). Last night, I found out I got a 79% of the cardiovascular test. I can't believe it. I spoke with the teacher afterwards and he assured me I still have an A in the class, which is good, but I really thought I knew the material better than that.

We just finished up blood and are now on the immune system, so I hope this goes better.
