Scrubs for Short People!

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

Ok, I need to get a few sets of scrubs but I can't find anything that fits me. I'm 4'9" and 110lbs. NOTHING fits me. I do have hips and everything thats lenght wise is made for a stick person and if it fits hips wise it is made for a normal height person:lol2: . At least I can laugh at the fact that I'm really short! Anyway, Anyone have any ideas other then heming everything I buy? (Not to handy with the sewing machine);)

Thanks

I bought a pair of Urbane scrubs and another pair made also by Landau. The low rise worked perfect for me.

I am 5'1" and weigh about 125. I am very short waisted but longer in the legs and pretty much every pair I have ever had the crotch would hit me almost to the knees. I have been rolling down the waist band fo years.

These fit me where they are supposed to.

I am the same build and weight, except I'm an inch shorter. My pants are always high-wasted. I will check out the brands you mentioned. Thanks.

I remember a very petite nurse (I am short but not as tiny as you guys) who took care of her issue with over-all scubs....I have looked every where for these, they had adjustible straps and all....comfy! She wore a tee shirt under.

At 5 foot nuthin (on a good day), I feel your pain, though not quite as deeply as you. When I don't feel like hemming my scrubs, I just roll them up. They stay all through my 12 hour shift. I have made a pair of pants, and although not easy for the first pair - surely subsequent pairs would be easier - it wasn't too hard. Just follow the directions exactly on the pattern and have the internet handy to look up unfamiliar terms. This is how I learned (am learning) to sew. Also, make sure you buy petite scrub, most companies make them. I have a pair of white swan petites I really like. Good luck!

I'm nearly 5'1" and I personnally like the "Peaches" in low rise petites. Hit and fit right in all my best and worst places. Good luck

I know just exactly what you r sayin'. No offence but....manufactures seem to think that nurses come in one size... fat sizes. I am a 124 lb. 5'2 girl. not a 160 lb. 5'6.:uhoh3:

I am 5'1". I prefer to wear the scrubs that are cuffed at the ankle, or landau in petites. I hear that Dickies petites are pretty good as well.

I saw a scrub easy to sew pattern at Walmart. Do you sew or do you have a friend or family member who could sew some uniforms for you?

I am 4'11" and have found the Dickies petites flare legs to be a lot better length wise than other brands- and also, I have "inherited" some from nurses a bit taller than me, they have a tendency to shrink in the leg sometimes as well so you could buy some and wash them in hot and they'd be even better length :) Good luck! I'm looking for some new scrubs as well.

I am sooo glad I'm no the only!!!!!:lol2: My husband tells me all the time that you can't be a nurse if you can't find scrubs that fit! I will check out some of these and see what I can find. Thanks a ton for your help.
