Passed CA NCLEX 2008, just got SSN this 2012, applied for CA-RN license

Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.

My questions are:

Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?

What happened?

Did they release your license or not?

If yes: How long did you wait for your license?

If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?

--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.

i did submit again my transcript and rle's to them. u can ask someone to go to ur school and get them for u and to send it to ca bon, if u passed the nclex before ur pass scores remain but they destroy the applications after 3 yrs thats why you need to resubmit it.

Hello jim314 .. Yes my school submitted the transcript and the papers from the application form that needs to be filled up by the school. My only concern is now they are asking for my clinical cases which unfortunately i dint have a copy anymore. But i did submit a letter to them with the copy of the letter i received when i pass the nclex.. Hopefully they would consider me and release mu license soon. :)

just let them know, when u call them that u already submitted all the requirements before, when u took the nclex, and this time you got ur ssn already, you just need to resubmit the necessary papers for them to issue your license. thats what i did. called them once a week to make a follow up.

I have also a question mine is different since this is may first time to apply for NCLEx RN exam and its for Cali. I already send all the needed requirements and received a letter from bon asking for my ssn and school diploma. They did not asked for my cases and the like.

1. What do you think is happening?

2. Do i have to attach the letter i received to the additional requirements before sending?

@raymay you are correct. Attached the communication letter when you send them you documents. Just send only those items that they are requesting.

Thanks margauxfd. Can i send them again the requirements? Because i already sent them the requirements without the communication letter. Should it affect my application? Thank you very much.

You may opt to do that but it's really not necessary to resend it. The purpose of attaching the letter is to let them know what the docs are for. But I think they should be able to identify why you sent them your deficiencies.

Hi! May I know what happened to your application? I am actually going to the US soon and just like you my file has already been abandoned since I was not able to give any SSN years ago. Anyone out there who got their license recently without having to pass the clinical cases?

@juicebar, I recently received my CA RN license from the board without having to pass the clinical cases. I'm not sure on what occassions they would request for an applicant to submit it, but i think it would vary depending on the submitted documents.

Thanks! Just to be sure, which form should I fill out - application for licensure by examination or reapply for examination? As I read, reapply for examination is only applicable to those who have previously taken the NCLEX in CA and did not pass. So I have to apply like a first time applicant, right?

Use the licensure by examination. Then include your pass letter together with the form when you send them your application.
