NCLEX application in NY for NON-US applicants.

I am a nurse here in the Philippines and it is my first time to apply for a licensure at New York State. I'm processing my CGFNS Credential Verification for New York State (CVS) online, but I haven't completed it yet. I just wanna make sure if I'm doing the right thing. Is there anyone here who can help me or give me information on the step by step process of applying for a license in NY state, from CGFNS up to application at the NY State Education Department (NYSED). I am doing the process on my own and just basing it from what I read from the site and the other blogs here, but I'm still confused. Can someone help me on this? One who had undergone the same process before. Thanks!

Hello every 1.i m new to this website can any one tell me what is transcript n license validation as I m applying for CVS for newyork state.in status it shows items waiting to be received today I got email from cgfns that notice of complete application.and they are waiting for transcript n license validation.will they send that for to license n school.and lastly I want to know now do I have send application to newyork state board.

Hello, @NursePao! I have just received my CVS today. Well, it took me 10 months of waiting. Just wanna share also that I went a knee surgery last March and I'm still recovering. It was pretty tough application process. So many things happened to me. So, how are you? I hope I have enough time for preparing my eligibility application considering my present health condition. hi zylphRN i would like to ask if the cgfns issued your report, is there an expiry for their report? i havent sent my ny application to the new york nursing board because i plan to aait for the cgfns service report first before sending my application. do you think this is a good idea? also did you start reviewing while waiting for your eligibilility? thankyou so much:)

hello bluetrinkets! Yes, there's an expiration for CVS report. "If your CES order is not completed within a year's time due to inactivity, it will expire. You can reprocess your expired order, which will allow you another year to submit the necessary documentation to obtain a CES Professional and/or Academic Report." Regarding to your question if it's a good idea to send your application to NY BON, I'm sorry because I'm not really sure about it. I have utilized the NEAC services when I applied. I was only told that my credentials have been verified and CGFNS will be sent to New York State for evaluation against New York's licensure requirements.

I have also started reviewing while waiting. I just had surgery last March and still recovering, that's why I process these steps one after another. You're welcome!

In my own case cgfns has sent forms to my school and nursing council in my country, but the council is delaying in verifying my license, can i ask the cgfns to waive the license verification since some people go through the process without a nursing license. i read on this platform that some people only used their school transcript for the CVS processing?

CGFNS will send forward to NY any or all documents they have received once 6 months are up. It is then up to NY BON to decide what to do next

If i take the NCLEX and pass, will i ever get a nursing job in NY? I really want to practice my profession in ny, i just don't want to waste my time and effort if its not gonna happen

If you read the NY state forum you will see many struggling to find work. Gain experience if possible in an area which appears to be in demand. Otherwise if you have immigrant/citizenship then you have the same chances as any other immigrant or citizen in finding a job

Hi! I was just wondering because I sent my application/required authorization letter for my transcript and license last week and about 5 days ago It was already received according to DHL's tracking site but when I checked it at CGFNS's site the current status of those required items is still "waiting to be received". Anyone from you who experienced such?

It can take a while before CGFNS will show received opposed to waiting to be received
