Are you an introvert or extrovert?

I am a new nurse, immersed in a new (nursing) culture.

Most of my coworkers seem outspoken and very extroverted, however we have a few 'quiet leaders' on the unit.

All of the personality testing I have done puts me just on the brink - between extrovert and introvert.

I am left wondering...are most nurses extovert or introvert?

I am an introvert and that has made things a challenge at times.... You can still make it work.

One of my instructors did a study on this, most nurses are introverts. I'm also on the border.

I'm a pretty strong introvert. I think you just have to find the right environment for you, no matter what type you are.

I think the true definition of introvert and extrovert (at least with MBTI) refers more to where you draw your energy from...outside sources or from within yourself.

I am an introvert, I have always been very shy.

However, when it comes to being an advocate for my patients....then it is a different story. I am able to stand up for them, where I would not be able to do so for myself. :)

Introvert for sure. I'm not as strongly introverted as I was when I started out, but still have those tendancies.

At work I am an extrovert. At home and in other public situations I am an introvent. Besides work, I would rather just be at home with my family. I hate get togethers!!

Correct definition! Often confused with personality types...I'm an introvert to the core....but my personality is very out going and often gregarious. Thanks for the heads up to everyone about this term. Blessings,

Introvert.

The young extroverts are the ones who go out and have fun after work, and come back the next morning feeling just fine. After work I am ready to go home and read a book.

I think I tend to be more introvert, especially around people I don't know...but if you ask my friends and family members they will definately say I am extrovert.

I'm an introvert to such an extreme that I don't even like small talk. I feel that small chatter and mingling with people is a major hold-up, so I tend to avoid social gatherings whenever possible.

Being around people does not bestow any energy upon me. In fact, socializing bores me and wears me down. I've grown rather comfortable and accustomed to my role as an introverted loner.
