I'm the world's biggest idiot...

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

My NCLEX was scheduled today. When I registered I picked 2 p.m., wrote down 2 p.m. and planned my life around 2 p.m. Guess what? It wasn't at 2 p.m. Somehow I chose 8 a.m. and never looked at the confirmation to verify the time I had chosen. When I went to gather my papers to leave for my test, I saw it: Start Time 08:00 AM. :crying2:

I am usually super-organized, super-prepared and never do things like this. I feel like the World's Biggest Idiot. I can't re-register until tomorrow (and pay another $200) -- then I have wait for another ATT. And I have to tell my supervisor and anyone else I may have stupidly told that I was testing today.

I just needed to get this off my chest. I feel like a failure and I haven't even taken the test yet!:chair:

oh sorry about that.

Well, it happens to the best of us and the worst of us, don't let it bother you. Instead take the extra days and review some more. Good luck.

Don't be so tough on yourself. I feel your pain, that really sucks. I still have nightmares about waking up late and missing the NCLEX or failing. And I passed it almost 2 years ago. It is just stressfull.

I am very sorry to hear, maybe nothing can make you feel better now but just understand that life comes with all kinds of event: some good and some bad and a bad one will catch us sometimes. I am really sorry hope you will get your new date soon.

Wow! I'm sorry! I will double check mine right now so I don't make the same mistake!

crazy things happen when you are stressed or anxious. :smackingf i think all of us have their own horrible stories about their nclex experience. in my case, there were five of us who took the nclex together. most of us were at the verge of losing our sanity except for one friend who was calm and composed the whole time. unlike us, you would never see her anxious. she was perpetually calm and composed. most of the time she took the initiative to remind us to keep it cool and not stress too much about the exam. :p

fast forward to the day of the exam….. :chair:the moment we entered the testing area the “ cool” friend burst into tears!!!!!:cry: and that was soooooo unlike her!!!!:eek: you can just imagine what it would be like losing your composure moments before the most important exam of your life!:uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21:

but then again, you learn that you have to carry on and make the best of what you’ve got! the brighter side of it is that is that. .years later, we look back and have a good laugh about it. :rotfl::rotfl: it aint all that bad!:beer:

cheer up!!! :balloons:and do your best!!!:up:

you are not dumb!!!!!!! ok, you did a dumb thing, but that absolutely in no way makes you dumb!!:uhoh3:

you aren't an idiot either, so puhleeeease stop thinking and saying it.

every one of us has lots of idiotic, dumb, stupid, "omg! i cannot believe i did that!" moments. unfortunately, sometimes all you can do is laugh at your goof.:lol2: in a few years, or maybe months,

this will make a funny story you'll share. ;)

the good news is that, while it will cost you $200 more than it should have, this will make you much more careful and you'll pay much more attention to detail.:D:d

Don't feel so bad, the worst thing about this is another $200 fee you have to pay. I basically forgot to cancel my test until the morning of, so we each have our share. Hang in there and take the extra time to study. Good luck

Oh thank all of you so much for taking a minute to offer encouragement! It makes me feel so much better! :redbeathe I've just gotta suck it up and get it done!:nurse:

A $200 mistake isn't that bad, when you think about it. And who knows, it may have all happened just exactly the way it was supposed to!

Bless your heart and plow forward!
