  1. Wow, I liked nursing until I went into dialysis, I love the skills itself but I am not comfortable with a lot of things in the acute setting. I am sad, confused, and ready to burst out in a fit of tears. I think I hate nursing after all that studying
  2. Nothing beats alegria.....go on alegriashoeshop.com
  3. I started out in a private psych hospital, I enjoyed it. I then moved on to a regular hospital and I truly hate it. I want to get out of nursing all together. Maybe if I had stayed in psych I wouldnt feel the same way. Maybe if you are passionate about nursing on a whole you'll be fine. Good luck. I have only been a nurse for 20 months
  4. Hello DrCrimWitt, I am sorry for that bad experience, but sometimes it is just unfortunate that a set of persons in a specofic company can really give people bad ideas about a company, many all these people were just the wrong persons that you came into contact with. I have experienced those things before but then one day you meet the right person and wondered if this is for real. Keep pushing on, its a terrible experience, sometimes it is not the organization but the people. You seem to be a strong and knowledgeable person, try again
  5. Keep trying it is a great field, I have no ICU only psych experience and I got into davita, my friend went straight there also years ago out of nursing school and now she is training dialysis nurses, it is what you put your brain to. Many nurses keep saying that we have to get certain experience before a specialty, while it is beneficial, it is not the same as back in the days plus, new nurses will not get hired without experience and they therefore have to take whatever opportunity is given. Keep trying go for it, they are hiring. :yeah:
  6. Hey Lisa, I have nothing else to say but that YOU PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hooray.. prayed for you this morning.
  7. Hi Lisa1980, My advice to you at this time is to start praying for calmness and to have less anxiety. The more relax you are, the better you focus. I did it and didnt find it hard and I know that keeping myself calm was a strategy that helped me. Remember that the computer is also working with you in that if it generates a question that you dont answer correctly, it will give you an easier one. Try to relax, you have to do it, so you have no choice right now. I do understand how you feel. Good luck to you and try not to think about your previous NCLEX experience. It is your time now!!!!! Go for it!!!!!!!! Say to yourself "IT IS MY TIME NOW" even when you are walking towards the computer to take the test. You got this girl! I am going to say a special prayer for you. Astia
  8. I tried the PVT and got the good pop-up and it was right on target....I pass nclex-rn. Thanks to allnurses.com. It was the PVT that kept me going until I got the results
  9. Just an update I passed NCLEX-RN. PVT works
  10. Mystic33, honestly I probably cant make you feel better right now, but when you go into that test, you will be surprised. I was as worried as you before I tested and one of my friends allowed me to try one of her q bank 50 questions and I scored a 56% and I the NCLEX is far easier than kaplan. It was much more stressful to do the kaplan 50 questions than the NCLEX 75 questions. Nclex is far easier than kaplan. Dont stress too much, it is not that bad. Just be rounded on your areas. I dont think you should stress too much over the pharm. Hope you feel better.
  11. I am very sorry to hear, maybe nothing can make you feel better now but just understand that life comes with all kinds of event: some good and some bad and a bad one will catch us sometimes. I am really sorry hope you will get your new date soon.
  12. Hello All, I have lived on this site for the last 2 months since I graduated May 1st and I must say this is the best website that could have been created. I took my NCLEX-RN at 8am today and I dont know why but the exam was very easy to me. I was scared that my computer shut down at 75 Questions because I made some guesses at some questions. After coming home I realized that probably the guesses were ok because based on how the NCLEX is worded it is different from what we are used to see but it gave options that relates to the familiar words that we use in Nursing sch and what we see in the review questions. For example: you may not see the word "ASPIRATION" but you will see an answer that is suggestive of the word. This will lead you to do "educational guessing". But pass or fail the test was not hard. I got quite a few infection control questions and if it was not for this website I would have had problems answering them, but Allnurses made them so easy. I am sure I got all (about 10) correct. A few priority, no math, about 3 peds, no OB about 3 psych. My questions were all over the place, I did not get too much of anything one thing. I used Del&Priority Lacharity book it made my priority questions easy, I look in the saunders a few times and glance at other books maybe once or twice, I only did an ATI review that the school gave, I paid for nothing. I know I did less than 1600 questions in total. Important: Let noone tell you how to concretely study for NCLEX, your way is the best way, some advice is good but dont feel bad if someone is doing something and you are not doing it, each person way of learning is different. I didnt study hard and I find this test very easy. There is no one way to study. The questions are not confusing or tricky....dont worry. I did the pvt and get the good pop-up. I am just waiting to see if it works for me.. I will update you. Just have faith and believe in yourself. The test is not far from what you were taught in nursing school, basic nursing. I am so grateful for this website, it really keeps me going. Sometimes I was mad with myself for always reading through the threads on this site and not studying but I did feel like. My brain was just weary from 16 months of torturing from nursing school....PS Good luck to everyone who is about to test.
