Mine would be my 2 voice recorders for each of my classes, my medical dictionary, watch, and nursing fundamentals made easy book.

What was yours?

My 8 gig iPod touch, a flashcard app, a premium membership to Quizlet, a NCLEX flashcard app, a really good stethoscope, my own BP cuff (we have to take all vitals manually), and coffee.

Lots and lots of coffee.

Plain old notebook paper and pens. I can never remember things if I type them, I've always had to write them out. I tried printing power points and the things the other students did, but...in the end I guess I'm just old fashioned! :icon_roll

I really like my MedSurg Notes booklet I got on amazon. I used it to study for exams, before and during clinicals, studying for my NCLEX and I'm still referring back to it. Oh, and it's waterproof!

Specializes in ICU.

so far ... laptop with a nice clickety keyboard (it motivates me to type faster somehow), watch, stethoscope, own BP cuff, Micromedex app on my iPhone, Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-RN book by Mary Ann Hogan, Drug Information Handbook for Nursing (2010), Googling OWL APA (try it), Facebook group to communicate with my cohort all at once, and of course coffee in the mornings and Ambien at night (but not every night)

The LiveScribe smart pen, which records lectures at the same time I write. In addition, if I tap on something that I wrote, the audio during the time I was scribbling down something also comes up.

Specializes in retired LTC.

I don't get how all you young'uns can type so fast! I just loved my hemostats (the curved ones) then for my clinicals. Still love them now - use them for everything and have them everywhere. PS - Happy Nurses Week/Day to all!
