Is Nclex playing mind games?

This thing is screwing up when I try to insert a linik it goes away after I click ok. N E way I wrote that here is a site that may help.

The NCLEX aside, I think it is you who is playing mind games. Are you trying to take the exam, as your post suggests, or do you have 1 more year??? (posted previously) Be careful, if you are only getting C's in class you will most likely fail the NCLEX, so I guess it won't matter anyway. :rolleyes:

:crying2: Good Luck. I thought the NCLEX test was unrealistic and a mind game. I took it many many years ago. I did very well on it. I always chose the answer I thought "they" would give. You must discover how "they" think.

Of course, If I would have given the "reality of real life nursing" answers I would probably have failed. It seems that "their reality" is different from real nursing. Pretend you have only 1 patient to care for and all the time in the world to call the doctor etc.etc. etc.

I think if the original poster spent more time studying for the Nclex rather than wasting time chastizing everyone on the forums, she wouldn't be such an "NCLEXHATER" :rolleyes:

I'm not familiar with the OP but I will say that I thought the NCLEX was simply "pick the best worst answer" and had nothing to do with real life nursing. I stand by that.

I think going back to the days of essay questions and boards that lasted a weekend would be great!! At least you could feel like a real nurse if you passed. Instead of trying to outguess a test.

It seems to me that you are having some negative thoughts that you would like to deal with. I thought that this was a support group for graduate nurses, yet often you offer negative advice. Instead of hating the Nclex, perhaps you should work on your interpersonal communication skills. BTW, I passed.

As I read some of these posts I am surprised. When I read the OP's thread, I see someone who is nervous about NCLEX and who may be having some second thoughts about nursing. I see someone who needs the support and encouragement I usually see on this board. Instead, I am seeing some responses that are anything but encouraging. I subscribe to the "Thumper Theory"(from Bambi): If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

To NCLEXHATER: EVERYONE, and that is without exception, is nervous about NCLEX, and most working nurses have days where they go home and wonder what on earth they are doing in this field. I've been a nurse for seven months now and am assured that this is normal. As for NCLEX, I would recommend Kaplan as a good way to prepare. It really does a good job of making the actual exam seem almost easy. NCLEX is mostly about basic nursing, most of the content you learn in the first year of clinicals. It does not play games. It simply wants to know if you have what it takes to be a safe beginning nurse. I studied hard the Kaplan way and the computer shut off at 75 questions. And yes, I passed. You can too.

Right now, the best thing you can do is to talk to your advisor, or someone you feel comfortable talking to, about how you feel about the actual reality of nursing vs NCLEX. Then go from there.

Very nice and very tasteful. I think you used therapeutic communication in your response to nclexhater. I agree with you. I am sure nclexhater is under a lot of stress and tried to be negative towards people who are willing to help him/her.
