California's 2011 New Grad Program

U.S.A. California

Published

When I saw that Torrence Memorial had closed their applications to their New Grad program starting in March 2011 I realized we needed a new grad 2011 thread! The 2010 thread was a great place to ask questions and get answers about upcoming new grad opportunities. So let's make this thread the same. :)

First off, When did you graduate?

Good luck to the Scripps interviewees! :)

So I only got one interview =( but I think it went really well =). The unit I interviewed for was La Jolla 7 West Med-Surg/ Oncology unit. Crossing fingers!

I had an interview on Mercy Trauma. It went well but, I forgot to give the interviewer my letters of recommendation.

Lol I forgot also!!! But mine went well too...it was for interm care floor at mercy San Diego ..was ur interview wed?? I met a bunch of new grad nurses..I was a chatty Kathy lol

Yes mine was wed a 4:30

Haha yea pretty sure you sat at my table... I'm Anthony ...you were married...you had a great smile!!!! I'm sure you got it;)

Man I hope we all get the jobs at Scripps. It seems like a wonderful training program and hospitals to start our careers at. At least it seems none of us are competing against one another. If I'm not mistaken, we are only being considered for the position we interviewed for right? Crossing finger and toes.

Specializes in Med Surg, Telemetry, Long Term Care.

just started my orrientation at hollywood presbyterian on their sub acute area.i was thinking that im gonna work there for 6 months or so and if given the chance,i'll transfer to dou or med surg area.

Congrats to everyone who got Scripps interviews! Does anyone know when they are suppose to get back to us? I remember they said if you get a call you got the job but if you get an e-mail you didn't, I just forgot when they said they would let us know, anyone remember?

SOOOOO bUMMMED that I only found this thread now...I didn't even realize Scripps was accepting new grad apps. I've been on the site a couple times in the last few months chatting with recruiters about when the new grad program will be - everytime they've told me they didn't know and now I find I missed it...uggghhhh...frustrating!!!

I applied for the Palomar Pomerado position though..got an interview...sigh...goodluck to everyone!

I was hoping that Palomar Pomerado was going to hire a lot of nurses including new grads because they have that "hospital of the future" opening sometime this year. Anyone have any information on this?

BTW, has anyone applied to Tri-City? They never get back to anyone I know that has applied. No response. I wonder what their critieria is for getting a job there.

Nursesonchi-We are supposed to hear back by this Friday. I'll post once I know anything.

I agree with Jojonavy on "I hope we all get the jobs at Scripps." From what I have witnessed on the forum thus far, we would make a very strong support system throughout the RN residency. Good luck to us all. :)

...back to patiently awaiting...
