What classes are you taking next term? How many credit hours? And what does your clinical schedule look like?
I am taking Peds for the first seven weeks and OB in the second seven weeks, and I plan to take a neonatal class. So a total of 10 credit hours, though really only 6 at a time. Unfortunately, my clinical hours suck. Because of the NICU class, I can only have clinicals for Thursday and Friday 3-930 (Peds). Thankfully, it is only seven weeks, and I will be able to take daytime clinicals 7-1:30 TThrs for OB.
What about you? And for those of you who have already taken Peds/OB, how was your rotation?
18 credit hours? That is insane!
That's also what I'm taking right now.
Fundamentals (4 credits)
Health Assessment (3 credits)
Intrl CNL Role (3 credits)
Pathopharm/Pathophys (5 credits)
Systems and Population in Healthcare (3 credits)
And 9 credits is considered "full time" in the graduate school. The joys of an accelerated Master's CNL program!
My Spring semester will be:
OB/Peds Nursing
Mental Health Nursing
Med Surg Nursing
We have Med Surg for 8 weeks, then OB/Peds for 6 weeks & Mental Health for 2 weeks. Won't know which one I'm assigned to first until the end of this semester. Each course has it's own clinical rotation.
When we're done with Spring semester (2nd level), we can sit for the NCLEX-PN if we wish. Still continuing on with the program for the RN.
It's my first semester of NS starting Jan/14. EEEH!!
Anyway, my school sets up our class schedule as one 10 credit class with 1 day lecture, one day lab, and one day clinical, plus a 1 credit med math course the month before the program starts.
Our lecture will be fundamentals and clinical will be in LTC.
Super excited and nervous!!
Just got accepted to a Virtual Accelerated ADN program and from what I can see from the recommended courses, looks like it will be Mental Health, Maternal Child Studies and Managing Intravenous Therapies. Registration is next Mon for me so I guess I'll know more then. I'm soooo excited to get this going!

I've never heard of a virtual accelerated ADN program. Is it all online or are there clinicals as well?

My first semester of nursing school! Eeek!
Nursing History, Knowledge, and Narrative - 3 credits
Essential Concepts of Nursing - 3 credits
Nursing Skills and Technologies (class and lab) - 4 credits
Pathophysiologic and Pharmacologic Approach to Nursing Practice -6 credits
Sixteen credits overall, no clinicals! I took both patho and pharm in undergrad so hopefully it wont be too bad of a semester!
