I was wanting to start a thread to see what the average gpa is nationwide at the time of your application. I am down in south Mississippi and it seems to be anywhere from a 3.0 to a 4.0.
My overall GPA (all college work) is in the high 2's... but my prerequisite GPA is about 3.6 and almost all coursework since I earned my Bachelor's is actually about 3.8 (only one B and a whole mess of A's). Come to think about it, given the good grades I've gotten recently, it's possible that my overall GPA may have reached a 3.0...
Certainly my last 60 units is above a 3.0 GPA.
I'm older, a lot wiser, and understand my learning style far better now than I did when I first got into college some 18 years ago.
I have a 3.879 gpa. Had a 4.0 until this last semester. Got a B in A&P2. My school goes by a point system. A&P 1/2 and micro C=10 points, B=20 points, A=30 points. your TEAS-V counts as is= you get an 89 then you have 89 points. 11 more points are possible for being already enrolled in school, having all pre-reqs done etc. Possible 201 points.
My school ranks on pre-req GPA (this has the most weight, and it must be 3.0 or better), overall GPA (must be 3.0 or better), and ACT score (must be 21 or better). Pre-req GPA is a 4.0, overall GPA is a 3.53, and ACT score is a 33.
Anywhere between 300-500 people apply each year, and only 75 are taken.
I got in. :)

Nice! I came in from NOVA with a 3.6. Now, I'll be going back with a 3.5 or so--made the Dean's List this Spring at TCC. I was Phi Theta Kappa up there--got my EMS Certificates and AAS with honors--cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude.
