My school just got a $450,000 grant and they are accelerating the construction of our new school. Woohoo! Not knowing anything about health suites, I was wondering what I should request? Administration is also on board to install observation cameras (thanks, OD). Bathrooms are right next door, will request doors, if feasible. Thanks so much.
Would cameras in the clinic be a HIPPA violation?
Privacy. My wish would be my own space to chart, make phone calls of a sensitive nature, etc. Right now I am in one room, and the cots are right behind me. The kids are forever reading over my shoulder.
Bigger bathroom. Handicap accessible. This school was built so long ago, there was no thought to the idea of disabled students being here.
I do have a separate cabinet/sink station. It's old but functional.
Also have a table where students can do work or color when waiting for a parent. (For dental issues, etc.)
Here's my dream clinic: and L-shaped room with a large "sick area" for cots, sink/cabinet area & the smaller area for my desk, a book shelf and a table with a few student chairs for diabetics, kiddos waiting for non-illness pick-ups, etc. Also a large handicapped restroom with a locked cabinet for students with cathing supplies, ketone strips, etc. A shower would be nice in there (handicapped accessible of course) because sometimes *stuff* happends.
