you and your friends are crowded 'round the bar at 0800 -- right next to the unwashed alcoholics and degenerates. and you all know each other!

you've ever called your insurance agent (who works from home) back at 0200 to make a point.

you've ever hung up on your father because when he said "don't you know who this is? i used to change your diapers!" you thought it was someone making an obscene phone call.

your friends (the triage nurse in the er, the local sheriff's department dispatcher and a guy who drives for the mortuary) call you at midnight on your days off because they aren't sleeping either, but their families are.

you've ever woken up with the portable phone in bed with you, not remembering who called or what you may have said to them.

I always wanted Bacon , eggs when I got up at 5pm... my husband and son wanted pork chops or something else, I would think how could you eat pork chops at 5pm? I always wanted MY breakfast and they got really tired of it.Also I would think Why the heck do the stores open At 10am? I wanted to go shopping at 8:30..

In my area Walgreens open 24 hours..... this is my little spot and they sell everything!!!:balloons:

That's all so refreshing. I worked 10 years in England and 7 of those, I was doing shifts (night-shifts) mostly.

I remember drinking at 8:00 am and sometimes be drunk by 11 am on my nights off (with my colleagues).

I remember hating summer and the sun, the noisy neighbour coz he has mowed the lawn at 11 mid-morning.

By the way, the unfortunate thing is that liquor licensing allows the sale of alcohol from 11 am. Had to make sure you had good supply.

When you answer the phone and it's family on the other end saying "Oh you are sleeping." And you want to say so badly "Yeah I'm sleeping so if you don't want me to call your house at 1 AM then don't call mine at 1 PM."

My mother used to be afraid to call--she knew I worked nights and didn't want to bother me, but by the time she got done apologizing for waking me up, I could have answered her question (or whatever) and gone back to sleep. I love you, mom, call if you need to, but cut to the chase already!

ha! and when mine calls i go through the same routine of ' are you sure you're really awake? do you want to call me back?' so then she'll talk to me and end up relating the coversation to me later.
