uk rn asking about crnbc...
Hi I am a UK nurse too. When I was offered a job, I also applied to crnbc for registration. I waited 3 months only to be told that I had been registering with the wrong regilatory body. I am a mental health nurse and should have been registrering with crpnbc. The registration with crpnbc took 1 month for the whole process to writing the orientation registration examination and their offices kept me informed of the progress throughout either by email or telephone. I know what you are going through. BTW attempting to follow progress on their (crnbc) website was mission almost impossible. I'd say hang in there babe and try to call and hope for the best but at times expect some frustartions. That was my expeirence with them maybe some people had different. Good Luck. :wink2: :wink2: :wink2: :wink2: :wink2:

Calling All Nurse Managers/Clinical Directors
I have been a Clincal Services Manager in England until June when I relocated to Canada. My career has been in forensic psychiatry. As mentioned earlier, it has been lonely and frustrating and to make it worse, I was directly managed by an Occupational Therapist who has biases and prejudices against nurses. I had to battle with that as well as working in an environment that was so unhealthy, I worked out with hypertension (190/123) which I must add was diagnosed 2 months after I started the job. The environment promoted backbiting, bitchiness and witch-hunting which were all reported to the General Manager. I enjoyed clinical work and I have decided that I will take my time before going back into senior management in healthcare. I am 36 years old and I am not not about to kill myself, which is what would have happened to me. My experience was obviously terrible but I do have friends who are senior managers and are happy. I suppose I was dealt a boss from hell. :troll:

New SolutionsCanada Nursing agency.. for real?
I am so sorry for you. I came over from the UK and never paid a penny for the service and I have received a relocation package on top of that. I am so sorry. You need to RESEARCH before getting into such things. If you need further advice pm me. I have been through the process.

You know you work nights when.......
By the way, the unfortunate thing is that liquor licensing allows the sale of alcohol from 11 am. Had to make sure you had good supply.

You know you work nights when.......
That's all so refreshing. I worked 10 years in England and 7 of those, I was doing shifts (night-shifts) mostly. I remember drinking at 8:00 am and sometimes be drunk by 11 am on my nights off (with my colleagues). I remember hating summer and the sun, the noisy neighbour coz he has mowed the lawn at 11 mid-morning. ummmmmmmmmmmmmmhhhhhhhhhhhhh:penguin: :penguin: :penguin: :penguin: :penguin:

My apologies if this thread has been discussed before. I did go through but could not find this thread. I sincerely need advice. I qualified in UK in 1995 with a Dploma in Mental Health nursing. I am currently awaiting my registration in BC (Canada) but I want to work in the USA. What is the quickest route. Please HELP. Did I mention I also have an MSC in Healthcare Management. :penguin: :penguin: :penguin: :penguin: :penguin: :penguin: :penguin: :penguin:
