Final grade for med surg II: 92.67%. Grade needed for an A: 93%.
YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS! NOOOOOOOOO!
But for real...that is cruel.
Tell me your final results. Are you happy? Are you surprised? Anyway else get the middle finger like me?

Just to put things in perspective. Grade 74.97%. Grade needed to pass, 75.00%, no rounding. People fail but a tenth of a point or less more often than one might thing. That A would have been awesome, I'm sure.. but praise the Lord you're not on the other end of that.

You got the grade you deserve. You weren't given "the middle finger" and no one is being cruel. Be happy you still have an A. I'm guessing you probably lost some people in your cohort who barely failed but unfortunately, that's just how it goes sometimes.

That is incredibly frustrating! My school rounds up or down so I'm getting irritated thinking about being that close and told they don't abide by the laws of basic math. Sorry!

Lord, some of you take this thread too seriously. Of course no one was being cruel and I wasn't given the middle finger!

If I said "knock knock," half of the people would go check their front doors.Chalk it up to the internet and lack of social cues available.

From what one of my instructors told me was that it was against tje board of nursing policy for nursing schools to round to the nearest whole number regarding grades. But rounding to the nearest tenth was allowed. Makes no sense to me but like i said that is what i was told. Gud luck to u.

Grades don't really matter too much when you're out of school. Breath and move on.

You are like me, grade obsessed. I had to learn to let go some cause it was driving me insane.

"Rounding" isn't a "law of basic math," it's a choice one can make or not. If one chooses to round, there are established guidelines/recommendations about how to do that, but there is no requirement to "round."

I've calculated mine to 0.24 shy of A and our program doesn't round either. It stings!! Lol
