sorry you failed. :icon_hug:take a break for a few days you deserve it. then get back to studying. pick up a nclex study guide or take a prep course. the bon should be sending you a packet with information letting you know the areas you are weaker in. all the best to you!

Don't let it get you down too much! Like the previous poster said, take a few days off, then hit the books again! I know of several people that failed it and went on to be great nurses... they knew their stuff, they were just bad test takers. I know it stinks to have failed it, but just think, you have an advantage for next time you take it... you already know what to expect :)

Sorry you didn't pass this time but keep your chin up and better luck next time. My manager failed twice before she passed and it didn't hurt her career any.

Thanks for the advice...its been 1 hour since I heard the bad news. Feeling a little better knowing that people understand!

yea...huge bummer. didn't want to go through the entire study process again. i guess things happen for a reason. just gotta try harder in 45 days. i guess part of the experience was freaking out before the exam which totally took me off my concentration track while testing. next time, i know exactly what to do! thank you so much for all your kind words and advice! i will definitely use it!

I'm sorry you did not pass. I too just received the same disturbing news so I completely understand where you are coming from!! I know you were dissappointed, as was I, but we just have to build up our confidence levels, hit the books, and PASS THE NCLEX!! We can do it :) Good luck!!

Shennie, I am so sorry. I personally know excellent nurses who failed the NCLEX their first time. Some people really get test anxiety. Others just needed to practice a bit more. Either way, don't get too down on yourself. Give yourself time, then pick up, dust off, and study hard. Then try again. YOU CAN DO IT!!!! I wish you all the very best. And welcome to allnurses.com.

if it makes you feel better, know you are correct. several nurses failed the nclex before passing. in fact, i am working on a floor with many who failed her (there are no male nurses on my floor at this time) exam the first time around. plus there are a few new grads who recently failed. the new grads, similar to the nurses, show up every day to do their job despite failing.

after you have had time to grieve, get back on the horse and start studying. btw, i will be graduating in 3 semesters. if i end up in this position too, be sure to reassure me that there is life after failing the nclex! gl!

I'm sorry you failed :(. Take a little break, then get into a study course ASAP. That may help. Think about how many fail the Bar! And guess what they are called after they take it 10 times, and pass........attorney, lol. Just like they will call you nurse and you won't even think about this time in your life in a few years! Some people just don't test well, it is really nerve racking, just think positive, study up so you feel confident, and you will be a nurse in no time.

I'm sorry to learn that you've failed this first attempt but am sending you BEST WISHES that the next time will be successful....Like others said, take a few days' break and then start the study routine again. Try some relaxation techniques prior to the test---let us know how things go!

Sorry to hear that you did not make it this time. Please take the time for yourself right now, and then wait at least a week before starting to prepare again.

There is no reason that you cannot pass the exam this next time, but I would not focus on the exact date that you can retest. Better to schedule it when you feel ready.

I have a sticky at the top of this forum if you want my help in preparing.

Best of luck to you.:balloons:

And remember that this setback only makes you stronger, it does not cause any problems for you in any way with your career.
