Would you tell a coworker they're going to be demoted?

Would you tell a co worker when you know that the boss is getting ready to "demote" them and on what date?

My boss has hired another nurse to come in and take the place of a friend of mine, but has not told my friend because she wants her to continue working at her position until we get through the state survey.

She then has plans to change her position to floor nurse or ask her to leave. I feel this is wrong on so many levels, and I would want to know if I were in her shoes.

Should I tell her? Not tell her?

It is sad you can not trust ANYONE. Never ever speak negatively of anyone via text to people you work with. You may think that you are friends, but people are very cut throat in a lot of work places it is very prevalent in the nursing field. I toss that up to it is primarily occupied by women who tend to be catty and backstabbers. No I am not saying all women are that way, but it is like I said more prevalent in that type of environment. I pray you get the job you are going for. I would ask to see these supposed text messages that they are holding against you.

Exactly, how did NM from H*ll view your text messages? Is she bluffing?

Did you get anything in writing on your last day?

Might be time to lawyer up.

I agree. I think it's time to fight fire with fire. I've seen the most dishonest and obnoxious managers suddenly roll over and back off when a lawyer turns up. She's only being this rotten because she can.

She was told I sent a mass text to the nurses and CNAs asking them to come work for me..... Work FOR me? Wouldn't it help if I were employed somewhere?

I did, however, send out a text to the nurses wishing them all well and telling them I appreciated them and was very happy to have worked with them.

I am planning on doing exactly what was said. Gonna lawyer up.

i have said text and I also have other "proof". I'm just so irritated that it had to go this route. If left alone, none of us would be in this battle and we could go about our merry ways.

She just sent an email stating that she is now considering me "fired" instead of being able to "resign". States it was due to unprofessional conduct after I left.

And I am sure that is what she told HR at the hospital where I applied.... Now what can I do?

Keep this email. She can't decide she's fired you after you already resigned. Her behavior is so outrageously out of line. She is letting you know she intends to defame your character.

I would consult with a lawyer. It doesn't mean you have to throw down a big lawsuit, but a cease and desist type of letter with a warning is probably in order since you no longer work there. If you did still work there I would say go to her superiors and risk management.

I have used a cease and desist with great sucess on a former employer that called my new boss to "tattle". Boy, was she shocked when my boss refused to play. My lawyer had to rewrite letter 3 times before I was satisfied it wa stern enough. Make absolutely sure that a copy is sent to appropiate corporate as well.
