Would you recommend your online RN to BSN program?

I'll be doing Excelsior. $300 a credit. A bit high but they're not going to give me any trouble abour pre-reqs or gen eds. 30 credits, boom!

I started University of Pheonix online, RN to BSN in July 2008. My speculated graduation is June 2010 and that's probably if I don't stop between any classes.

Classes are five weeks long and you only take one class at a time which I think reduces my stress level. There is a one week break between classes.

Each facilitator/instructor, posts the syllabus for the class, to let you know when assignments are due. There have not been any tests (yeah). You have to be online with two substantive posts four out of seven days at your convenience. There are also two discussion questions per week. Other assignments include: team assignments, individual assignments, powerpoints, and a lot of papers to be written. All books are online except the first two.

I have enjoyed all classes up to this point. It is expensive, but my employer is paying for it (thank God) :yeah: . I would recommend this program as it lets me work at my own pace. Hope this information helps! :rolleyes:

I'm starting Chamberlain's RN-BSN at the end of the month. It's expensive, but my trusty spreadsheets have confirmed that it'll cost me about the same as the other schools to which I applied; those others would require more classes than Chamberlain, so it evens out. I have 206 college credits already, and I was granted a lot of credit -- nice. Plus I don't have to worry about residency requirements, and we're planning to move in the next year or two -- probably before I finish my BSN.

I graduated from Excelsior RN to BSN in 2007 and I would definitely do it again. It took me about three years part-time at my own pace. I worked on it when I had time. The academic advisors were very helpful. The courses were relevant to my position as an RN/Case Manager in home care. The on-line courses were just starting to be offered during the time I was working on my degree. I got many of my credits through testing. I really enjoyed the on-line courses I did take. The Wound Carecourse and Death, Dyingand Bereavement electives were terrific. I still refer to some of the materials used in those courses in my practice. The tests cost less, but the on-line courses were a much more enjoyable and useful learning experience.

I attended Texas tech HSC Lubbock campus.Loved it.Only 2 semesters full time, 15 credit hrs each

Did the texas tech program require you to go to Lubbock. I stay in DFW area but I am interested in their program. Also did you do clinicals? Can you give me some more info about the program.

I will be graduating in 03/2009 from Graceland University's School of Nursing. I have had a great experience. There is one focus session that is 4 days that you have to come to the Kansas City campus. Everyone is very helpful and helps you stay focused. http://www.graceland.edu/
