  1. Florida Hospital College's RN to BSN is totally online- you don't ever have to visit Orlando (unless you want to visit Mickey, of coorifice! ): http://onlinenursing.fhchs.edu/ As long as you have your RN, its not that hard to get in. Here is their admissions info: http://onlinenursing.fhchs.edu/online-rn-bsn/
  2. Has anyone heard anything about this BSN tuition being waived for FH nurses? I heard a rumor it was free if you agree to work at the hospital 2 years after you graduate. Also- I found this video up on their site of the Pinning from this past Christmas, it was so nice I wanted to share with you guys: http://onlinenursing.fhchs.edu/pinning/
  3. Hi Guys! I wanted to post a comparison chart that one of the other helpful forum buddies had posted a while back. Also- a good site to review potential schools is: http://www.allnursingschools.com/ FHCHS' online RN to BSN does not require 1 year of experience- if you have a current RN license in the state you live in: http://onlinenursing.fhchs.edu/online-rn-bsn/ Hope this helps! 4. You might want to try poking around on this site: http://www.allnursingschools.com/ They have a pretty good list of schools, depending on what your goals are. Good Luck!
  5. Hi Nicole! Wow congradulations on completing high school so quickly! :yeah:I greatly admire your determination and passion for the nursing field. We are lucky to have you! In regards to FHCHS, you will need to have sat for the NCLEX in order to be admitted into the online RN to BSN program. The program itself runs from 18-24 months depending on how many classes you take at once. 18 months is really only for people who are not working..and 24 mths is the more relaxed pace. What's really neat about FHCHS' curriculum is the few religion courses. They teach you how to treat the whole patient- regardless of their religious belief or practice. Some very useful skills to have in the field! Here is the program's website: http://onlinenursing.fhchs.edu Good luck to you on your journey! :loveya:
  6. :yeah:It sure is nice to hear from all the students in the program! Just wanted to post the website incase anyone needed more info: http://www.onlinenursing.fhchs.edu Have a blessed day!
  7. :typing so- i am still hunting for the outcome of all this legislation- however here is the official run down of the bills in ny per the new york organization of nurse executives. it sure is tough to find the specifics on this for other states... these bills legislate the acquisition of a bs as a prerequisite for renewal of registration to practice as an rn in nys ten years after initial licensure. no associate degree or diploma program would be closed as a result of this bill and would apply only to future educated graduates of associate and diploma nursing programs. all currently licensed registered nurses and current nursing students would be grandparented and never need to meet the baccalaureate requirement. the bills will not intensify the shortage because of the grandparenting clause. given the number of students being turned away from educational programs, there is a ready supply of qualified applicants to replace anyone who is diverted because of the new requirement. however, we believe that the improved image would result in additional recruits to the profession. future rns prepared at the associate degree and diploma level would be given 10 years from initial licensure to complete a baccalaureate degree in nursing. no licenses would be "removed". new rns not meeting the requirement would have a "hold" placed on their license similar to the action taken when a licensee fails to meet continuing education requirements. there is provision for extenuating circumstances. if this proposal were passed by the legislature and signed by the governor in 2008, the earliest that a licensee would be placed on "hold" would be in 2020.
  8. I would make sure you: 1. Get plenty of rest the night before 2. Make a hand written "cheat sheet"- even if you can't use it during the exam, the act of writing it out and seeing the info in your own hand writting can help reinforce the material and ease stress. 3. MOST IMPORTANTLY--- REWARD yourself!! Give your self something to look forward to after the exam- a favorite meal/snack, a shopping trip, a hot bath... this will keep you focused on the positive and give you something to work for. :heartbeat
  9. I agree that the RN to BSN program at the Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences is definately worth a look. SACS & NLN accreditated and priced in the lesser third of programs out there. http://www.onlinenursing.fhchs.edu
  10. Here is a previous thread about it: https://allnurses.com/forums/f141/excelsior-fl-nursing-grad-endorsement-dillema-283141.html
  11. I have always had good luck with this site: http://www.allnursingschools.com/ They have tons of schools on there- you should definately be able to find what you need there.
  12. fhchs is affordable in comparison to other programs, it's not the cheapest, but it's not the most expensive. however, the support and the prestige of the program make it definitely worth it. the school is a real campus and both the program and the school are fully accredited, which means you can take your credits anywhere. that is more that you can say for some other programs. :chuckle i just can't say enough about it! they definitely go out of their way to help you along and you receive so much support from your peers as well. you definitely don't feel alone! here's the website if you need more info: http://www.onlinenursing.fhchs.edu :loveya:
  13. Florida Hospital College doesnt require any campus visits and its regionally accrediated so you can transfer your credits anywhere. http://www.onlinenursing.fhchs.edu
  14. I second that - woo hoo for FHCHS: http://www.onlinenursing.fhchs.edu
  15. Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences has a completely online RN to BSN program: http://onlinenursing.fhchs.edu/ Tuition is $275/hr and they are NLN accreditated.
