Would you marry a Doctor?

Nurses Relations

Published

Im new to this site and have been looking around. I was pretty shocked to read so many nurses saying they would never with a capital N, marry a DR? Are you kidding me? I would love nothing more to fall in love with and marry an intelligent, powerful, rich man who I have something in common with (healthcare). In fact, that would be like a dream come true for me. I dont get it???

Specializes in Onc., Tele, Alzheimers.

If it's genuine love, that's one thing.

The people on this site are referring to flaky girls who go to nursing schools *solely* to find a "rich doctor" to marry. It's sickening and a humiliation to intelligent women everywhere.

Specializes in Med/Surge, Psych, LTC, Home Health.

NO. Call hours, long days, pagers, law suits, etc, etc........!!

LOLLLL whyyyyyyyyyyy?

Specializes in Hospice/Infusion.

I agree, I would love to be able to share my day with someone who understands what really goes on. I don't discriminate just bc he's a dr. In fact I'd be happy with anyone who had some medical knowledge.:redpinkhe

There's also the family life aspect...when nurses are done with work and go home...they're done with work. This isn't true for Docs.

I'm heading to nursing school and my almost-fiance is heading to med school. So yes, I would.

No I want to spend time with my husband and can you say debt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Met A lot of Docs who say if they could do it over again they would go to nursing school and have met some pull my finger still laughs at fart jokes docs only the ones who have been docs for a long while are rich and some never become rich

Well, of course I would. That's the only reason I went to nursing school. :hdvwl:

Specializes in Peds/outpatient FP,derm,allergy/private duty.

Of course I would, if he was the right person. I've met some wonderful doctors in my years in healthcare and some real turds. The long hours, the on-call etc can be worked out. Just don't start out as a young nurse appearing to be on the hunt. It's obvious to everyone and people will talk about you behind your back.

Specializes in interested in NICU!!.

i'm very happy with my hubby. he's very smart and good at what he does. he's in the business world and he just makes things happen, he's very smart.

as long as he's smart-doesn't matter the initials after the name, lol
