Why are so many people today shunning real medicine, vaccines etc for hoaxes and gimmicks like essential oils, weight loss powders, etc? Any ideas why so many are turning away from actual medicine?

I believe in a single payer healthcare system. Everyone deserves healthcare. However, if we treat everyone regardless of how non compliant they are, how will it be cost sustainable? There has to be a point where you say “they keep refusing to change, we will not waste more resources on them”. The question is at what point is that?

Yes, that is the question. At what point do you refuse to continue to treat? With single payer health, with no private option, and medical care costing more and more of an entity's GDP - how do those decisions get made? Who gets to make them? Hint: elective surgeries get put on an interminable wait list. You hope some of these patients elect medical tourism elsewhere.

And note the opposing viewpoints in your post. You say you believe everyone deserves healthcare. Unless they're noncompliant. Which means that not everyone deserves healthcare. Only those willing to do as they are told.

At some point it becomes financially impossible to maintain. So you treat compliant patients and after so long you have to cut the non compliant ones too. And we probably should come up with the oldest age to treat too. Encouraging abortions and sterilizations for people who can’t provide for kids would go a long way, but we need to come up with more solutions.

That is simplistic, nasty and childish. I am tempted to invoke Godwin's law it so bad.

Please stay out of healthcare professions as a career. Your suggestions invoke memories of history (think Nazi Germany) and current practices in some countries.

(And, without realizing it, Godwin’s Law is where I went.)

S/he’s not. The thread was starting to die and s/he didn’t want the fun to end. Don’t feed the troll.

What is wrong with this idea? It would improve homelessness and over population in America. You can’t have both single payer healthcare AND treat every thing for everyone. Sterilization is easily performed and can be reversible. If they cannot afford to have kids, how can they repeatedly pay for multiple abortions (or we as a society)? It’s not painful, and not harmful to the person. Seriously, what are the downsides?

And I’m pretty much the complete opposite of a Nazi. I’m not the least bit conservative.

You do not understand who the Nazis were and what they did.

Yes I do.. they were a conservative group that forcibly took control, and murdered many innocent productive people. Many of the people that they killed were very productive members of society, but there was a large distrust of them so they were killed anyway. Basically just a case of mass jealousy since many of the Yehudi they they killed were bankers, business owners, and other successful people.

I am nothing like a Nazi. I’m as liberal as they come. I don’t believe in mass murder. I don’t believe in the death penalty either. It’s inhumane and just evil. I AM Jewish so... yeah there’s that.

I think many people misunderstand socialism. “Each gives according to his or her abilities, and takes according to his or her need”.

For the system to work- people have to actually WORK. Use their abilities, and take only what the need. Many people are doing the least they can to get by, and taking far more than they need. Especially the politicians, but this pestilence exists in every area of society.

And, the Nazis killed those who did not fit their description of worthy individuals. In addition to the Jews they murdered, they murdered those who were mentally handicapped, physically handicapped, mentally ill, Christians and others who helped the Jews, such as Corrie ten Boom’s family and others. You may be liberal, but by your postings you articulate Nazi principles.
