Hi all,
I have a big question and need only POSITIVE advice.
I'm 52 and have been a nurse for since 2002. I have always wanted to tint my skin green and dye my hair purple. I know it sounds odd but I feel it would be an accurate expression of my Zany personality. Do you think this would hurt my chances of getting into and NP program or hurt my future job prospects.
Remember I only want POSITIVE advice

As long as you claim your nationality as a descendent of the frog people, you should be fine. Hair color at my workplace must be natural, but I don't know the historical natural hair color of the frog people. Purple hair would look natural with your glowing red eyes so I say do it!
Please post pictures. I'm positive others will want to rush out and copy your look! What a great idea! You will positively stand out among the crowd and be recognized.
Gee - I hadn't thought of glowing red contacts - I'll look into it

I'd love to dye my hair purple. If only I could be taken seriously with amazing purple hair. Sad, sad me.

I thought maybe this was going to you being an ogre.
But remember, ogres have layers! You can still be a sensitive and caring nurse

TRUE story: Mr. MaryJean had a roommate in college. (mid- 1970s) They were both studying to be ministers. Hallowe'en rolls around and roomie Roger decides to go as Hulk (who was only an obscure, comic-book character then). Roomie Roger takes a bath in green food color. Makes a great Hulk, all is well.
UNTIL Roger discovers that food color does not wash off immediately. His skin is green. And he is scheduled to preach his first sermon on Sunday. The very kind people of the little country church were very kind and allowed the show to go on.
That was 40 years ago, and he continues to get random green and Hulk-themed items in the mail from classmates.
PS: He is a very well-respected minister in the Wheeling, WV area to this day.

I'm not sure what you mean by "positive" but I would be lying if I said I don't think that will hurt your career

Hmmm.. Are we talking the permant tattoo sort of coloring or the temp. food coloring that MeanMaryJean described? I say go for the ever lasting kind. It'll freak out your healthcare providers and leave them stumped when you are seen. Oooooh Better yet. Perhaps you can get a reality show from it? My green skin life??
You mean I could give up nursing altogether and go on the talk show circuit?
