There is a current thread entitled Things that annoy me on allnurses. Members have been pretty vocal on that thread. We really are interested in your feedback. You are why we are here. You are what has helped to make the site what it is today.
We are always striving to find out more about our membership.......who you are, how you got here, why you stayed, what you want, what you like. We want to provide features and opportunities that are of interest to you. With such a large membership, we know we can't please everyone all the time But we want to provide a place that has something for most of you....and that takes a lot of different types of things.
We hope that even though you may not like some of the things we offer, some of the new things we have tried or will be trying, you will be supportive. Let us know what you like and what you don't like. But please be respectful in your communications.
To help us as we consider things in the future, please take a few minutes to answer a few questions.
1. Why did you come to allnurses?
2. Why did you stay at allnurses?
3. How long have you been a member?
4. What do you enjoy the most about allnurses? Features etc
5. What would you like for us to change or add to allnurses?
We want to continue to be the voice of the nurses as we all strive to raise the level of our profession. We thank you for your input!
I came to AN after doing a Google search when I was first contemplating starting the process of prereqs.
That was 5/6 yrs ago!
I stay because every leg of the way, from prereqs thru LVN school thru more prereqs, working as an Lvn and now, rn school AN has had a forum for me, and my needs.
I try to give back by answering questions on the prenursing and Lvn forums, occasionally on the new nurse forums.
The folks on AN "get me". It's like an anonymous therapy session for all the stuff nurses experience!
I came across allnurses in my search for wanting a career change and thinking about going back to school for something in the medical field, possibly nursing.
I stayed here at allnurses because I found lots of help here as far as with questions it seemed like a great resource. I'm sure I will use this site more once in for sure decide to make the scary plunge into going back to school.
Ive only been a member for a few weeks.
So far I enjoy just reading what other people in different situations have to say.
I'm still pretty new to this site, so far there isn't any thing I would change about it.

What you need to do right now is change your avatar and your screen name. If you go back to school and into nursing, and stay on the AN site, it is definitely a good idea to do it. You will inevitably have something to say about a situation or a person that is not entirely flattering, or complain about where you work or whatever. In those cases you do NOT want everybody to know who you are! I promise!
Best of luck!
I originally found AllNurses about three years ago when I was seeking information about the career, and I enjoyed seeing the profession through the eyes of nurses with such a variety of experience. I found what I was looking for, fell in love with the prospect of nursing as a career, and applied myself toward becoming one.
Shortly after discovering AllNurses, I downloaded the iOS app for my mobile phone, but since it never worked (repeated porifice error) I didn't use it, and sort of forgot about AllNurses. Then, as my anticipation grew while waiting for my Nursing School acceptance letter, my postal clerk, of all people, reminded me about AllNurses. Having received and declined an acceptance letter from my chosen school herself, she recommended I search AllNurses for our school name and year, and follow along with all the information shared by other applicants. I did, and have been lurking, following, occasionally dropping my two cents in for the several weeks since, this time as a member.
I have found encouragement and advice relevant to me, and I have witnessed on this medium some of the attitudes and actions I have been warned about and others which embody the ideals which draw most of us to this service profession. I am happy to find myself in this virtual community, and look forward to participating to some degree for many years to come. Thank you, AllNurses! And thanks, all nurses!
I wanted to hear a professional point of view about it and I got it,so yeah :)
Awesome! I'm glad to hear it! And, welcome!
Eta - we had a poster a short time ago post some very, very strange things about this topic. I'm hoping you found the good, truly professional stuff, and not that. If you do ever have questions, you are welcome to PM me anytime.

I came here because the site was full of info and thoughtfully designed. I was a member since 2007 but a couple years ago I was just unable to recall my password lol....so had to create all over again. I stay at AN as I like to lurk and learn. I don't reply much these days...I don't want to chance a snarky comment dripping with sarcasm because I didn't realize I was ignorant.
