I used to post in this forum awhile ago, then kinda took a break because there was just alot of waiting until I actually got into nursing school. Well, I finally got in and am starting this fall :) I don't feel quite right about posting in the students section though, because I'm not quite there yet. I just wanted to see if there are any other soon-to-be nursing students who are lurking in this forum.
I am waiting to hear back for late May of this year and if I don't get in for May I will be a fall student, too. I'm applying to an accelerated program (AS degree) which is 15 months long. My school is pretty secretive about the grades and test scores of those who are accepted, so I have no idea how competitive I am as an applicant. I just know they receive 40-60 applications for every spot they have in the program. I've have a 3.8 GPA and good TEAS scores, but my advisor wasn't super encouraging either way about my possible acceptance into the accelerated program. She did say if I didn't get into the accelerated, I would definitely get in for the fall 2010 program (which isn't accelerated). But sitting for the NCLEX in Fall 2011, vs summer 2012 is a huge difference to me at the ripe old age of 36 :) I can't wait until April 14 when they start sending those acceptance letters out!
I am waiting to here from Gordon College in Ga for the ADN starting in Fall. I already have a bachelor degree in health science, but the accelerated programs are outrageously expensive. I have also applied to Griffin Tech for their LPN program. I will just bridge to BSN later on to save money. Can't wait to here something soon so that I can make a good decision on which route to take:)
Hello. I am hoping to get into the program for fall 2010. I am taking my HESI on monday and I'm SO nervous! If I don't get in I don't know what I'm going to do. I already completed all of my pre and co reqs to the program and I even have all my pre reqs completed for my BSN. I am praying I can get through the A&P section!
I will hopefully be starting in the Fall of 2010. My major has already been changed to Nursing in Self-Service, but I got an email telling me that I needed two letters of reference. I already had one done at that point and gave the other to my sup last week. I will probably check the status of my app tomorrow, just to make sure I have everything. Hopefully, I will be receiving a formal letter soon.
