Who's starting (or hoping to start) this fall?

I used to post in this forum awhile ago, then kinda took a break because there was just alot of waiting until I actually got into nursing school. Well, I finally got in and am starting this fall :) I don't feel quite right about posting in the students section though, because I'm not quite there yet. I just wanted to see if there are any other soon-to-be nursing students who are lurking in this forum.

Congrats on your admission, Danigrrl :) What non-nursing classes do you have to take? I'll be taking Human Growth and Development this summer and starting A&P1 with my nursing classes in the fall.

The program is kind of unusual, it's a diploma program that made an agreement with a college so that graduates would have a diploma RN plus an Associate's in Health Sciences. As part of the agreement, everyone who starts the program has to spend a semester taking a minimum of 18 credits from the college. If you have no transfer credits, you're taking mostly intro college classes: ENG 110, MAT 110, SOC 110, PSY 110/210, HIS 110, REL (the college is Baptist, so they require a religion credit), plus Biology and A&P. I have no transfer credits, so I'll be doing all of those from June to November. I haven't been in a class since 1995, so it's a bit intimidating, but very exciting.

So, you can figure that come June, I'll either never post or I'll be posting lots of "OMG what did I get myself into?!?!" posts. :lol2:

I start January 2011. I was supposed to start Fall 2010, but my program filled up about 6 months faster than it ever has so I got bumped to the next class :(.

I went to my application meeting 2 days ago and they said we will hear back the end of May to the beginning of June (I live in Michigan). Our school says they expect 400-500 applicants :uhoh3:!!! They accept 120 students twice a year. I don't have a really great teas score, but I think my GPA is pretty good at 3.5 and I have all pre and co req's done. I've made all A's and B's. I can only hope. I hate the wait! Good luck to everyone! :yeah:

LOL I hope it's not "what did I get myself into!?" posts.

I actually applied to a hospital program that was just like what you said, you could get a diploma and an associate's in allied health at the same time.

Oh wow, how do you know so far in advance? I'm just curious.

The poster is just assuming based on estimated course completion and when previous start dates have filled up. He/She won't be starting prerequisites until August.
