I finally got CPR certified today and have finished all of my vaccines for Nursing School! I have bought all of my books and supplies! I have Orientation on August 7th!!!! I know that it's real, and it has been ever since I received my letter back in May. Today, though, is the first day it has FELT real! I know that it will feel even more REAL when I go to orientation, and then clinicals, and so on and so on! I just wanted to post this because I am overflowing will excitement and anticipation!!!! Anyone else to that point or passed that point yet?

I have already reached this point. I had orientation two weeks ago and it feels more real now. I still had the 'this isn't real' feeling as I was purchasing all my supplies and doing the vaccine requirements before orientation. Now I am just super excited to start school on August 20th! I won't lie though, I still get those moments where I'm just like 'did I seriously get into nursing school!?!?' :)

I am pulling up the rear. My orientation isn't until later next month, but I'm puttering along. I just finished getting my immunizations, and I'll sign up for CPR next week. Just wanted to chime in, because I, too, am feeling the 'realness' of it all. I am SO ready and excited.

Congratulations!!! I recently finished all of immunizations, received my textbooks and CPR. It's all starting to sink in now but I don't think it'll really hit me until my orientation on August 17. Right now I'm still trying to decide what color stethoscope I'm going to buy LOL. I'm so anxious and eager to be Finally starting this journey.

Hey there! & Congrats!
I, too, am excited! But I haven't even had orientation yet! My orientation is in two weeks and classes dont start until late September because we are on quarters. I am sure that once I buy everything and finish all my vaccinations (I redid my CPR for work so thats done) it will become more real. I just want to start already!

I am in that same boat. So many thoughts and feelings rush over me at times.
I have moments of excitement, as well as feeling anxious and scared. I havent been in school for a long time so there is a lot to think about. On the lighter side, I have been very successful rounding up supplies, getting my physical and titers run. I am getting my CPR in mid August. I have Orientation August 3rd, and I am sure It will feel more real for me then.

i received my acceptance letter for fall 2012 in march. my orientation was in april. i was given a time frame of about 4 months to have everything prepared for a deadline which included titers, drug screenings, background check, cpr certification and cna license. i was so happy that i had all of this to do while i waited for classes to start. now i sit, two weeks after the deadline to have everything turned in, with three weeks until classes start. don't get me wrong, i am super happy that everything is done with no troubles.... but now i'm sitting and waiting-which is driving me insane!!! i'm watching youtube videos about nursing students, reading all kinds of articles and blogs, watching ridiculous amounts of tv shows that involve nursing in any form and dreaming about dreading all of the homework. in two weeks my books will be available for sale, then i must get cracking down for a quiz over 3 chapters and lecture on the very first day!!!!!
 cheers to all of you and your future success!!!!

I'm in the same boat as many of you. I have just finished getting my MMR shot, and my Hep B and Varicella titres. However, on the placement form it says typhoid (med lab only) and meningitis is recommended, though i'm not sure if i'll get those. I start class September 4th, which i'm very excited for. I only have 1 last thing on my agenda and that is to go out and get my criminal record check and I am all done! Very exicted, nervous, anxious however I know i'll do well. :)

I am excited also!! I have my CPR class tomorrow but it is a refresher. I thought it would be good to recert before my old BLS card expires. My summer classes end next week and then I have orientation on the 16th and classes start on the 20th. I want school to start but I kind of am enjoying this free time. Taking 12 credits this summer has me wanting a vacation:) :w00t:

I'm excited! Unfortunately doing my CPR, titers and physical was required to finished the application to apply. Orientation for us is the first day and class and the books and everything will be handed out the first day of class since its part of the fees so I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO UNTIL SCHOOL STARTS! lol. I can't wait to get this show on the road. Good luck to everyone in their programs.

So I had my excitement day yesterday. Followed by crap I have three weeks to write 3 papers and pull together my resource book that I was supposed to do over the summer. Now I wish I hadn't procrastinated! So now I'm coming down to the last legs of summer and the stressing begins. I did enjoy my vacation though. It did not hit me until yesterday that I made it through freshman year of nursing school. Once I got the "Sophomore Syllabi" in my hand.
