I was wondering who is applying for nursing school for the Fall 2006 semester.
My school allows us to hand in our transcripts for 3 weeks in March and the first batch of letters go out in May.
They only have 135 slots for the day and 50 for the evening. I will be applying for the day program since my gpa is not high enough for the evening (they say at least 3.7).
Good luck to everyone

Thanks Laura, I didn't know you could obtain that information. When I emailed the school they were rather crappy about it. I will hold off at the moment though. I applied to the LPN program and plan to do a bridge program if accepted to that or apply to the Madison Ivy Tech who's ASN program starts in Jan. of 2007. I am finishing 2 of my prereqs now, with A's and have human physiology left to take during the summer. I will then have all my prereqs completed with A's (hopefully). I scored 89.4 both times I took the TEAS test, so I would have to be accepted to Madison, or so you would think. Anyways, if these two avenues fail then I definitely plan to pursue filing a "freedom of information" request. I appreciate everyone's support . I know a lot of you feel the same as I do. Good luck to everyone waiting on letters, and remember if you don't get in, there is always a plan B.
I've applied to the accelerated second degree BSN program... to ONE school. Well, my back-up is a community college program but I doubt I will go that route. I have my interview with the Nursing Chair tomorrow morning ... I'm so nervous! The waiting is terrible! Good luck to all!!
Peace,

At my school an applicant who didn't get in filed a "freedom of information" request to find out why she didn't make it in. The school had to show exactly what they use as a determination for canidates.
You should file a request to make them show you why you didn't make it in. I am not sure how to do such a thing, but it would certianly answer your questions as to why you didn't make it in. Also, if there were some irrelegularities in their selection process, you could report your information to a local newspaper or news station who I'm sure would love to to expose the errors.
