WHICH RN to BSN ONLINE? PLEASE???

Published

I really tried to find other threads here and elsewhere before posting.

I am from Minnesota, I have my associate degree RN and want my BSN to be able to go onto CRNA. what schools (that are NLN or regionally certified for Minneapolis School of Anesthsia) are affordable, good, easily attanable online, resonably short program? No one has yet to compare and contrast the schools. ANY ADVICE?:uhoh3:

I went to Florida Hospital's College of Health Sciences which is NLN approved and all online. Depends on what you mean by "affordable". It was not short because they require some co-reqs like world religions which I didn't have.

There's a sticky at the top of this forum with an ongoing discussion about online RN to BSN programs.

One of the problems is that everyone has different needs and each program is enough different that non of them work for everyone. You have to look at the programs and find what meets your individual needs.

I was looking into Chamberlain, for when I graduate. Looks like the RN to BSN is completely online, takes one year (including summer), they award you a lot of credits just for having your RN license, and they require two co-reqs if I'm not mistaken, but they are including in the one year time line. I am not sure about the tuition, but it is where I'm leaning at the moment.

The biggest problem with Chamberland for me was the $$$. I was n't so concerned with time but with $$$

State University New York at Stonybrook has an excellent on-line program. Check with the Minnesota BON, but I'm certain they're accepted. It's heavy on science, light on management and theory, so it works for a graduate practitioner degree.

Yeah, when I checked out the site, for some reason I couldn't find th current tuition rates.

But, now that I think of it, since I am thinking of pursuing my MSN with WGU, I may just wait to see what they offer in their new BSN program, and try them. I image the tuition for the BSN couldn't be that bad considering the MSN tuition is under 7k for a year of study, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see all that is involved with theier program.

That's all good advice, thanks for all the replies. What I ended up doing and worked well is going to each of the schools on this site under the "RN-BSN" link like one of the posts suggested. I requested info and the next day they all were calling and I found Liberty was affordable at $250 a credit, NLN certified and regionally, only 30 credits because I'll be working and graduated with an AD. That means the time won't be more than a year. Plus they start in Jan, Feb, March, or summer... so flexable. Anyone gone to Liberty? Thanks

As others have pointed out different programs are going to suit different people. I am enrolled in the University of Wyoming RN to BSN program. It's all online and only cost $134/credit hour bringing the total cost for me to about $5400 for the BSN.
