Which is it? Coolest and most glamorous nursing jobs

Nurses General Nursing

I'm betting that this particular post will cause a stir. But I'm curious which nursing profession is considered to be the coolest or most exciting or over all glamorous job in the nursing field. Is it Flight Nursing, TCVPO, Cath Lab, ED, etc.

Don't ask me why I'm just wondering.

Specializes in M/S, LTC, Corrections, PDN & drug rehab.

Fly away troll boy.

Specializes in Float Pool-Med-Surg, Telemetry, IMCU.

Float pool, baby! We swoop in and save the day! 😎

Also, flight nurses are pretty hot in those blue jumpsuits.

Specializes in ICU; Telephone Triage Nurse.

I agree: The coolest is the one with the highest pay allowing work from home jammified (sans the stiletto's). Perhaps with a personal masseuse, and snacks served hourly ...

The most glamorous? Does any job that potentially involves cleaning stool include glamour? :cautious:

Hum, stilettos and jammies would be hard to pull off.

Depends on the jammies. I have some that would look great with stilettos.

Specializes in Reproductive & Public Health.

I'm a midwife; the very epitome of a glamorous profession. It's all cute babies and adoring happy families and cuddling, at least that is what most wannabe midwives think lol.

There is plenty of that, but also grief and adrenaline and blood and guts. Late nights, painfully long labors, checked out fathers, babies abandoned in the NICU, deeply mourned stillbirths, desperately unwanted pregnancies, abuse and neglect. And you get to help your patients through all of that mess. It really is the most terrible, wonderful job.

Specializes in OB-Gyn/Primary Care/Ambulatory Leadership.

Haven't seen you 'round these parts in a while; good to see you again!

Specializes in Pediatrics, Emergency, Trauma.
I vote for a nursing job that pays my bills and gives me vacation days to go exploring places.

As far as glamorous, I like that I can wear my Dansko's with any outfit and somehow make it work. - That is galm for you.

 Best answer; to add: I have a Dansko clog collection that could get me into Vogue or Glamour. :cheeky:

I don't have the option to sent private messages :-/ but I'd really like some advice in how/where to get a job like this! I don't even want the 100k/yr (I mean obviously I do) but I would just love to work from home. I feel like I've googled and searched until I have gone cross eyed. Maybe I'm missing what I should be looking for?

The coolest and most glamorous nursing positions are the totally fictitious ones on television...

Glad to know I'm not the only one with a Dansko addiction. I have 9 pairs now, I think.
