What's the weirdest baby name?

Specialties Ob/Gyn Nursing Q/A

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

yea no lie ugh. How can people do this to their kids.

No kidding. Poor, poor kids. Both of my children have very old, very traditional names with no funny spellings (Michael and Monica) - and the funny thing is, EVERYBODY loves them. I get more compliments on those names spelled traditionally than any of my friends' children with bizarre names do. I especially love when the elderly ladies stop me in Wal-Mart and ask my daughter's name - I tell them what it is and they just get all gooey and excited - it's so cute - funny thing is, they actually THANK me for giving my children "real" names (according to them) - never in my life did I think I would get thanked for naming my children something. :D They just love it because it's something they would have heard prior to this weird name trend. :)

My husband has a cousin Candy Cain...(real name).....our unit clerk is named Sekret.....My great great grandmother was named America, apparently not so unusual back in those days....a friend of mine graduated highschool with a girl named Stormy Dawn.....I know a Bliss, Johnny Johnson, David Davidson, Porsche, .....I had a patient who was an old man with the birth name of Baby, and went by that name........This one takes the cake...we have a Dr. Dumm....

Hey my gggrandma's name was America, as well as her mother's. Would these ancestors of yours happen to have the last names of Henderson or Kutch?

I have a great-aunt named Fannie Mazeline.

we call her Aunt Cricket! :) and I can't remember why!

"Q" --baby boy, brother named Michael

Parents must have been Star Trek fans,

I went to school with brothers. The oldest was Ryder an the youngest was Cutter

I know a Paisley, also an Ashlye -- pronounced Ashlee but w/that spelling you want to say Ash LIE! Also had a patient (baby) named Shawanna Jewell-- the mom wasn't sure how the spell the name!! Go figure! :chuckle A Tanner....a Kolbe.....Starr.....

Know a set of siblings named Lance, Pierce, and Chase. Those names aren't too odd ,but if you really look at them...they are all verbs. What is is with naming boys after violent verbs? One child named that but all three? I wonder if it was done intentionally. What are their next children going to be named: Slash, Kill, Cook, and Eat:rolleyes:
