I don't like lipsticks. I prefer tinted glosses or lip stains or sheer washes like Clinique's Almost line.
My lips are getting so dried out. (what is it with the air in the hospitals?) I usually take a juicy tube mini with me, but it's not lasting and I'm going through them faster than I do when I wear them on my time b/c of the super dry air. So there's a cost factor.
I want something that I can swipe on blind and keep going. Stains usually are too drying Sephora makes a decent one but still I like more of a gloss.) I like the Dr. Smith's tinted rose balm, but that's not sanitary to take to work.
Any recs?
I love Korres lip balms. I think the name is plum? They have many colors, and makeupalley.com has reviews and color references.
That's funny you mention them! I do read reviews over there (I like to try to research first) but there are so many things for lips it's hard to narrow down the search.
I love Korres products! I use their rose cream as my main moisturizer. I never thought to try their lip products, though I've heard good things about their mascara.
Thank you all for the great suggestions.
My absolute favorite is MAC's cremesheen lip gloss. I have several colors I keep in my bag to work including Loud & Lovely, Just Superb and fashion scoop. They last fairly well but are extremely hydrating and make my lips feel so much better. They also add a fair amount of color without having to worry that it will come off and look uneven. They also aren't sticky like a lot of hydrating products so I don't have to worry about my hair getting caught in it and staying stuck to my lip until I can manually remove it.
Another Mac fan here! :heartbeat I like the Vitamin E lip treatment. It's pricey but, since Mac offers a free lipstick with the return of six empties, I turn in my empties to get mine. I haven't tried the Cremesheen yet but now I will.
Honestly, I love the combo of Lorac Sheer Wash (Sheer Luck is a nice light rosy-pinkish tint) paired with Chapstick Medicated as a topper. I have problems with chapped lips, especially in the winter, and Chapstick Medicated is the best option I've ever found to counter that. Lorac sheer wash is a stain-type product and wears pretty decently. It's a little pricey (maybe $20 a container) but a little goes a long way!
I use Nivea Lip moisturizer. (it comes in a peach color tube) I am addicted to lip balms...but found this is my favorite for work. I've bought 4 tubes. If I change purses and forget it- I stop on the way to work and get a new one. It's clear, not sticky, and keeps my lips moisturized.
I actually don't like Burts...I find it waxy..and can't stand the feel on my lips.
A vote for Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers. I like the Peony color, it's a beigy pink that is great with most everything, and neutral enough for folks with warmer undertones. I also like the Caramel and Fig colors. They are nice and tingly, not waxy at all, enough color to look polished without appearing overdone, and very natural.
My own saliva. I produce it/therefore its my own product, I swirl my tongue around my lips so it doesn't crack during cold cold nights(nocshift)
lol that actually makes chapped lips worse!
I like to use natural lip balms since I have it on 24/7. Try Palmer's cocoa butter stick. It looks like a giant glue stick, but it moisturizes like no other.
