Could the answer be to have multiple platforms, that it, platforms similar to face book, but at least 3 or 4 of them? I think - but I don't know - that this is what Parlor was trying to do. (So far, I have only tried face book; I have not tried Twitter or Parlor or any of the others.)

With face book on the left, and Parlor on the right, and hopefully several  others, face book could have its fact checkers blocking out the far right, and Parlor could have its fact checkers blocking out the far left. And people like me could read the different sites and come to our own conclusions.

Parler has fact checkers or blocks content?

We've been in Afghanistan for 20 years.  It's time to leave and let the chips fall where they may.  If we break our agreement to withdraw Americans will die.

There is no peace there and we haven't accomplished anything.  It will be chaos if we leave now, it will be chaos if we leave 20 years from now.  I don't think we should stay forever like we do in South Korea, Japan and Germany, countries we have treaties to defend.

I don't think any mothers and perhaps fathers want to send their children off to die for some vague reason. My youngest son was considering the military after high school but the conflict in Afghanistan convinced him not to enlist. And now, my grandchildren are nearly old enough for military service and I don't want them to go there either.

Our country has other priorities like China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, climate change, to concentrate on.

Hmmmm.

Same problems, different faces.

It was never about peace. It was a response to 9-11. Some idiot proposed that democracy brings peace and of course newly minted non historical colonial nations with lots of spunk and morons, fell for it. Notice which nations now practice colonialism.

Unfortunately by placing ourselves in the midst we have influenced the country and the region. It's going to end up exactly as Iraq and Vietnam when we pull out. It's inevitable! Voids have to be filled and the power players in the region are all bad guys. For some reason teenage nations are just as stupid as teenagers!

America doesn't have the culture to influence anyone except in MacDonalds and Hollywood culture. It's not like Britain or France whose influences are still practiced today. Think of ourselves or Quebec. Everywhere the French or the English have colonised, still dances to their influence in some way.

We should have never gone in the first place because we had Vietnam and Korea as precedents with the outcomes. As isolated as we are from the world geographically, we need to present only soft power influences.

China is about to find out in a big way just what a monumental mistake it was to poke their snouts into Africa and Pakistan etc especially as they are incapable of diplomacy! Look at what happened to the Soviet Union!

Any insightful student of history knows that you are doomed to repeat it if you don't learn from it!

China invested billions in Africa in a forward looking manner, which is China's strength.  This is true in their trillion dollar infrastructure investments within their own borders, and particularly in Africa whom provides them with cheap labor for their companies, as well as natural resources.  They look forward and we look backward to "make America great again".

China looks forward for its own but we have to be realistic, they are simply too different from every one else. You can't couple insecurity with power. It leads to disaster. The way China treats its own citizens is an excellent yardstick for how they will treat others. Hong Kong? Taiwan? Remember I'm generalizing. They made a huge mistake investing in Africa for the wrong reasons. Instead of building Africa through democracy and education, they are trying to exploit Africans. And no one has succeeded in doing that without suffering dire consequences! British, French, Belgians, Italians, Germans, Portuguese, no one!

Russia is essentially the same. I don't know how many Russians you know but they aren't insecure, just somewhat 'crazy'? They are a very paradoxical people. Like most iron curtain people I have met, they break rules and want to be led. They're not French or British or Scandanavian secure. They're almost militant in a way.

China is a gross danger to the world currently. They won't back down or see sense as Putin would. Their govt has no compassion or respect for its citizens. Just imagine what the Chinese people could achieve with true democracy! There are very few people who are as hard working. India is the same but they will see sense if it's profitable.

Again this is just my opinion based on my experience and education.

This Republican obstructionism is ridiculous and reason I left that party behind to vote for candidates having my interest at heart.

Maybe it's time to publicly examine the role Mr Cotton played in the insurrection...seems to me like he was part of that and still forwards the lie that inspired the violence.

Looks like it's time to open a congressional inquiry into why Bill Bar lied to the American public about Trump's team colluding with Russian intelligence.  We could ask him then if he resigned in December because he didn't want to be associated with the treason that Trump was planning for January.

Hear! Here! Toomuch. I so want that guy to get his comeuppance. Even more than Trump! I have heard all of my life about the integrity of good lawyers and my dad was livid. He was literally steaming! No one could talk to him for hours if you didn't want to die because of Barr's antics.

Here's something else that bothers me. This epidemic of multiple shootings and why is it America is by far the worst country in the world for it?

One thing you can absolutely be sure about, is that it's motivated by rage! Why are Americans so angry? What is it about our system and culture that propogates such anger? Politicians, policemen, all types of employees, people from all different walks of life!

It has to be our culture and society that is the only connection. Even in third world and Eastern bloc countries, no one experiences this level of mass shootings.

Rage occurs when you are unable to vent or resolve anger and frustration. It logically means that our systems (legal and justice) are failing and IMO deliberately, to allow people to procure justice or seek resolutions. I put this down to legislators and then lobbyists! Lobbyists for big businesses are allowed to influence legislation. We have a seriously broken justice system! Corruption is rife and the people in it are psychopaths! We have been spun a lie and fell for it just as Republicans have lied to their voters!

Ours is a country of lies and corruption! We have a military system spending tax dollars to the tune of ten times more than our next ten competitors combined because of corruption and lobbyists!

To fix such a broken system we need to evict our current crop of legislators like firstly, the Supreme Court needs stacking and investigated. Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanagh, Alito and Amy Barrat needs to be investigated by a specially commissioned paneled. I would begin with their financials. Get the Supreme Court fixed and the upright justice will percolate down through the courts and things will normalize. Lobbyists will be held to account! Legislators will be jailed.

America is about money. Just follow the money and you will uncover the misdeeds!
