While there may well be enough self centered complacency among liberals to ignore the dangerous situation, it's clearly the GOP that is pushing the country toward fascism.

Then we're just going to have to agree to disagree. I think that there's so many crooks on both sides of the aisle at every level of govt. When someone says "oh no, the Dems would never do that" , to me is just as bad as someone say the Reps would never...both parties have their fair share of dishonest folks touting their own agenda. Any news source will spin whatever candidate in any light that they wish. Unfortunately, it's the state of how things are nowadays. Which takes me back to politics, and the media for that matter, needing a big housecleaning done, ASAP

Sure, there are dishonest individuals among elected Democrats, it's just not OK to compare the un-American intentions of current republicans to Democrats in the age of republican lies about the pandemic and the attempted coup. There really is no comparison to the current GOP corruption and push towards fascism. If there was a comparable facet in the DNC I expect you might have cited it already.

I could pull a lot of what about isms here, but won't. Serving in the military, I saw fascism/socialism in progress, and hope to never see it again. Our country may have issues, but we are currently nowhere near those forms of government. Yes, we could be so much better, but on the flip side, we could be so much worse.
As far as citing sources, if I want to left lean, I could use npr, vox, etc. I could find as many right leaning if that's my argument. Sadly, that's why we are where we are a country. Most people want to only see the point of view that they vote, instead of seeing issues and deciding to actively fix them.

The point is not to find a right or left leaning source, the point is to read and consume media that is looking to tell truths rather than partisan tales. We are where we are because of liars and cheats filling our media with lies and propaganda... all fortified by right wing voices hollering "fake news" when their weaknesses or intentions are exposed.
We will be worse off when republican voters ignore the obvious corruption and anti-american sentiment involved in diminishing the coup attempt by the former president and GOP leaders to give those same Republicans control of congress. State level Republicans are currently legalizing the mechanisms to steal elections. We will be worse off when they are fully successful.

My ancient representative just died from old age while in office... paving the way for a renewed political career for Sarah Palin. She needs long term employment.

If I believe everything I've heard from the media about Trump and his clan, then I have to believe the Biden stories from his own daughter, or the emails and voicemails ala Hunter and Joe. That's just as bad, as he's supposed to be a level above. That being said, I don't believe everything about either (or any politician for that matter), but I do believe that where there's smoke, there fire

Unfortunately, nowadays, it seems every news/media outlet has their own slant, depending on what they wish to promote, be it good or bad.

One cannot escape bias but they can avoid accuracy and reliability by feeding their own bias rather than simply looking for facts and evidence.
Have you heard of Ad Fontes media comparison before?

And there are other fact checking organizations. But it's so easy to spot the liars that it shouldn't be so difficult to find a reliable source.

You must consume much different media than I do...
why are conservatives concerned about Biden's adult children in private lives while they were comfortable with Trump's children having offices in the white house? Isn't that a lopsided concern driven by right wing media?
There's lots and lots of smoke swirling around Trump and his sycophants right now, yet you are contending that we should be just as concerned about Biden? That seems contradictory to your statement.
