There are some countries that have "first entry" asylum agreements, for instance between the US and Canada, but no such law exists for those migrating from the South of the U.S.

I'm not clear where you are getting that generally the migrants never got Covid.
I would disagree that mitigation measures weren't necessary 'early on' in the pandemic. If we're having to dig massive open pits to dump all the dead bodies into, and that's with mitigation measures in place, that doesn't really suggest everything would be fine if we stopped mitigating it's spread.
Perhaps I wasn't clear in my communication. What I was trying to say didn't relate to any of that. My fault.

They can request asylum in Mexico. Of course no free health care, welfare, and education benefits and other freebies that they will get in the U.S. at taxpayers expense.

Many of them actually do settle in Mexico (Paywall-Economist).
Generally, the way that central American will pay into the healthcare system in Mexico is similar to as in the US, there is no "free healthcare" for those granted asylum in the US, and they also pay taxes.

Like I said all of them are required to apply for asylum by international law in the first county they come to. That is Mexico. You can post all the links you want but we have millions each year trying to claim some BS asylum her in the USA for freebies and other benefits they will never even come close to paying for if at all. I believe like 99% of all asylum claims are rejected. Democrats need voters that's why they want them here and then they want to give them amnesty. If they voted Republican they would be on a bullet train back to Central America.

That's partisan political baloney... congratulations. What an ugly belief system you've admitted to.

Sez you. It's already been pointed out to you that we are obligated to determine their asylum status before we can turn people away. It is a LAW. I don't see any Republicans coming up with a solution. If I've missed something, please list their proposals. If it weren't a LAW that they are entitled to an asylum review, then the case wouldn't be in the Supreme Court. It will be interesting to see how the Supreme Court will decide this without having to demonstrate that they don't believe in laws.

That's not quite what MaybeeRN was claiming, but the "safe third country" process for these three countries was already defunct when Biden took office.
International law allows for such treaties and agreements, but with stipulations that Trump's agreements didn't meet.
As a result, the agreements with El Salvador and Honduras were never actually implemented, and the agreement with Guatemala which was initially put on hold due to Covid in 2020 was never re-implemented as it was found unlawful by US courts.

I think "ugly" is probably the politest way to describe your assertion that immigrants just take "freebies" and don't contribute adequately.
I would agree that asylum seekers who come here fleeing corrupt oligarchies and ethnic bias aren't very likely to vote for anything reminiscent of that, maybe that's the bigger problem.
