QuoteThe growing number of investor purchases has drawn increasing scrutiny from Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill, particularly as buyers target minority neighborhoods.
“One of the reasons housing prices have gotten so out of control, is that corporate America sensed an opportunity,” said Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) last week at a hearing of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, a committee he chairs.
Brown took direct aim at private equity firms and corporate landlords in particular.
“They bought up properties, they raised rents, they cut services, they priced out family home buyers, and they forced renters out of their homes,” he said.
Investors have been snapping up homes in and around downtown Cleveland at a staggering rate, putting three of the city’s Zip codes among the top 15 nationally in the rate of investor purchases last year.

My stance on mitigation strategies has been, that we could have gone ahead with protecting our most vulnerabile citizens without shutting down our whole economy.
I doubt I even mentioned Trump in the discussion of that paper.
I wonder what other narratives in your head are the result of your foggy recall of reality?

His comments on the case have been generally false, what is it that he was right about?

Shrugs
You said that Trump was right as you cited that paper. Are you certain that you want to talk about foggy recollection or fabricated narratives?

‘Immense fraud’ creates immense task for Washington as it tries to tighten scrutiny of $6 trillion in emergency coronavirus spending
https://www.washingtonpost.com/us-policy/2022/02/17/stimulus-aid-oversight-fraud/
Quote“There is no question that the immense fraud that took place at the crush of the pandemic in 2020, particularly in small business loans and unemployment insurance, is the largest oversight challenge the Biden administration inherited,” said Gene Sperling, the president’s chief coordinator for stimulus spending, stressing that the administration is taking “significant steps to strengthen anti-fraud controls.”
QuoteNowhere was the promise and peril more evident than at the Small Business Administration. The normally lumbering SBA moved at lightning speed to disburse roughly $1 trillion to cash-strapped firms, hoping to stanch the bleeding at a time when many companies were laying off workers in droves. But the agency’s approach, particularly during the Trump administration, also carried a steep cost, as the SBA did not put in place a wide array of policies that might have prevented significant waste, fraud and abuse.
QuoteThe troubles may represent just the tip of the iceberg, according to federal officials and outside experts, who together warn the U.S. government could face years of expensive and intricate sleuthing work. The agency’s own inspector general, Hannibal “Mike” Ware, long has cautioned that the SBA is staring down a daunting future, telling Congress in January it is still “realizing the true scope of fraud” that occurred under its watch.
“Managing COVID-19 stimulus lending is the greatest overall challenge facing SBA,” he stressed in written testimony, “and it may likely continue to be for many years as the agency grapples with fraud in the programs.”
The SBA declined to make officials available for an interview or answer specific questions. Han Nguyen, an agency spokesman, stressed in a statement that the Biden administration has been “working since its outset to address fraud concerns we inherited from the Trump Administration and to ensure the sound administration of pandemic relief programs.”
So much corruption and incompetence in the previous administration...it will take years to untangle some of it.

Haha....right. As I was reading this, I didn't think that even you would blame Trump.
Govt programs, especially ones passing out money like halloween candy, being the target of fraud and scams long predate Trump. We all know this.
I put the blame on Congress. Especially those members who have been there awhile.

We all know Trump is not a detail oriented person, unless it's about him getting some fake award or magazine cover. He was too busy preening in front of the press at his COVID update conferences to worry about federal spending.

When one digs into the weeds as the above researcher did, it's obvious that the so- called JH study was a piece of garbage when you see the quality of the studies that were dropped from their considerations. It's unfortunate that people, unless they work in a medical environment, do not have the education and exposure to research to dig up this information for themselves. Fox lies and Medscape refutes, but the public can't read direct sources. MSM is the only outlet left to get the truth out.
