Something to understand what nurses think about re the Current News and their opinions!

First, let me be clear on one thing. I could not care less what you, Curious1997, or any of the other members that post here think of me. I have developed a rather thick skin, and anything any of you have to say to or about me is going to run off my like water off of a ducks back of you.
Perhaps, you should read some of Curious1997's posts as he is rather clear in his disdain with those that don't agree with him, or his political views. And he's far from the only one doing this.
You yourself referred to Trump supporters as white supremacists and Nazis. When I asked who exactly how you made this distinction you replied "Trump suppoerters," I can only presume that you are considering all 74 million that voted for him as such.
As I've decided not to waste any more energy engaging you, or any of the other Progressives, I'm going to once again strike my colors and withdraw from the field of battle.
I’m sorry you’re being run off by a Berniebro retread. The same thing happened in reverse 10 years ago when the neocons dominated here. Personally, I use the ignore button for those who are too hard-core to reason with and try to interact with those who seem to be trying to make sense of current events. As you can see, not even this flaming lefty is immune to being mischaracterized when I disagree with the wrong person. Ah, well ...

There's a recent study estimating that as many as 900,000 people may have actually died from Covid instead of the 500,000+.
That is what happens to people who use the 'ignore button'! They allow people like Trump to become president who has raped and molested how many women? Called Africa's countries *** holes, maligned Hispanics as rapists and murderers, grabbed women's genitals, advocated an insurrection and lied about so many things that normal people actually don't believe anything he says and have committed so many crimes that it's impossible to count, but not only was he given outstanding support, but is continuing to receive the support and YOU EXPECT us to respect the people who are unable to recognize a psychopath when they see one?
After Hitler's first death camp or Stalin's first million people killed, which wasn't done single handedly, what do you think of the people who continued to support them?
The reason people ostracize others who support cruelty and criminals is because those people are themselves dangerous. If they agree with the behaviors, they are likely to emulate the behavior. Do you support pedophile priests? How about the mass killers or voter suppression or racists? People who run down peaceful protestors? If you support Trump as some of the posters, then you should expect the response from people who consider them dangerous and irresponsible.
Who and what you support says a lot about you the person!

Right! Trump is a white supremacist. So those who support him support white supremacy. There literally is no grey area in this matter. Trumpism is racist and thus dangerous. As you noted, people who sat back when Hitler and Stalin (I will also add Mussolini) were in power, made a mistake. We will not sit back just to prevent others from getting their feelings hurt. We, Progressives and other independent thinkers, want a country that is backed by the US Constitution and lives up to its stated values and not one backed by a demigod or cult of personality.
Speaking of independent thinkers, independent conservative thinkers are tired of the Republican Party being aligned with racist and Q-crazies, which have power under Trump. And so, there is a split in the party to be announced soon. I hope that split will allow actual real Republicans conservatives, who do not back Trumpism to leave the GQP for the GOP!
Ripping off the public, especially seniors not computer savy, not cool. Glad to see Federal Election Commission taking a stand.
F.E.C. Asks Congress to Ban Prechecked Recurring Donation Boxes
QuoteThe recommendation by the election commission came a month after a Times investigation showed that Donald J. Trump’s political operation had steered many unwitting supporters into repeated donations through the tactic.

They site the Tampa Bay Times in the article and he really didn't present it as "get off the government dole" tough stance to the lazy people. He's merely going back to how things have always been when you're on unemployment...you prove you're looking for a job. It's not a novel policy. It's part of his overall movement towards getting things back to normal. I support this idea I suppose because when unemployment was 11% during the Great Recession they still had this requirement I believe.
Speaking of his new conferences his signing of the voting bill was done before his friends at Fox News only and other press were barred at the door. Lame at best, unconstitutional at worse.

The thing about DeSantis is, Garbage in is Garbage out!
I build houses when it's profitable. The first thing you learn is unless you get the foundation right, all square and settled, you are going to have problems. Same with the framing. Those two things are what I take most seriously. The workers know not to joke around and concentrate or they are going home immediately.
DeSantis has sold his soul already and no matter what he does from now on, it comes with strings attached. He is being manipulated from the party’s agenda to the lobbyists in Florida who he made a deal with. Then he has the added complications of Trump and Rubio.
I agree about looking for work but I doubt that's his rationale.
And this is one of the major problems with this country. Jump in and deal with the consequences later.
As long as there is money or fame, to hell with consequences or safety.
Strong weed can induce psychotic breaks to the vulnerable. This is potentially even stronger stuff and you know just like OxyContin it will be abused.
Unless you deal with the underlying problem, the issues will never be resolved. This is going to be a huge problem in the long run.

When you start with your posts maybe I will with mine?

Politics is about doing favors and calling in favors, but I don't think he's being manipulated. He used Trump for his own selfish gain to get elected so he needs to support Trump in return, and he's aligned with the policies of the Republican Party in Florida and they are working together. He's not a puppet.

I think his rationale is what he says it is that there are now job openings and unemployment is below the national average and people should be able to find work without that added incentive. Underlying that is his parties long-standing antagonistic view of the unemployed and "people on the public dole".
However, the republican lead state did raise unemployment benefits this past March and continued other covid-related benefits while expressing reservations and concerns. There was widespread criticism of the program during the covid crash.
He gave a raise to teachers and a $1000 bonus to police persons and first responders in his record 101.5 billion dollar budget because that's popular and those are working people.
We are still waiting for his decisions on lots of other grants and projects that might get the axe.
The economy in Florida is making a comeback and even though things aren't back to pre-pandemic levels the vital hospitality industry is hiring and apparently bookings for the Summer are looking good.

Capitol defendant who bought into former President Donald Trump’s lies about a stolen election came down with “Foxitus” and “Foxmania”
Need I say more?
OMG, I couldn't make this stuff up ????!
How many people have capitulated blaming Trump or the misinformation? Just analyze the characters of these people. They are so willing to believe, that they will commit silly dangerous actions based on those beliefs, which as they are caught, apparently dissipates as if by magic?
What does that tell you? All the news networks engaged in the big lie, as soon as they are being sued, surrenders!
How strong are their beliefs really?
