Something to understand what nurses think about re the Current News and their opinions!

But perception I suppose is everything. I remember Obama having the same trouble when the economy was growing and doing well, the public just wasn't buying into that idea.
But for us average people, it's inflation......
Yes, of course it's inflation. I'm not able to access the WaPo opinion. The USA Today article is from July, about the time data was coming in from the reopening of things.
It'll be interesting to see the numbers from the last half of the year when inflation really started to kick our butts.

So basically, she said that at the time, Biden, Harris and Trump all made the same early judgement.
So it's inappropriate to make comments on a crime before it's fully investigated. Point taken.

Point taken...was it ?
The reporter asked about Biden and Harris.
She was anticipating the question, had Trump's quote ready and even the name of the reporter who asked Trump about it almost three years ago. She never said if Biden or Harris had any regrets, their reaction to what transpired since then, the verdict, etc. Just went right for Trump.
Lame.

Lame.
It was a gotcha question that was attempting to get the press secretary to say the president and vice president made a mistake. That's not journalism. So Ms. Psaki is lame for dodging a loaded question? I don't think so.
This is like locker room reporters getting in the faces of the losing team and asking "how does it feel to have just lost the Super Bowl?" They are just trying to trigger a sound bite.

Yep, I knew the article was from July and just picked it because it was the first one I saw, and I think I remember us discussing a more recent poll that showed the majority of people think the economy is bad.
I can't access the article from WaPo either. My friend is able to "gift" me articles. It just speaks of some of the good numbers.
They also published an opinion piece "People think the economy is bad because it actually is bad" on November 12th. But I can't access it
Guess it depends on what you look at.
This is interesting because it's also a time of job abundance and high rates of savings. I've read households have almost 2 trillion in savings. But as always there's a gap between those living paycheck to paycheck and those with better incomes.

It's hard for me living in Florida to say the economy is bad. Friends go to Disney World and report how packed it is. Practically everyone I know is going on one trip or another. Here in the county I live it was reported last month 2021 will be a record year for tourism which is a huge driver of our economy. Earlier this year it was reported that Florida's economy grew to the 15th largest in the world. September our unemployment rate was 3.6% in my county.

Still things are hard for a lot of people. I read that Miami is one of the most cash poor areas in the country. Housing is so bad the governor upped the housing budget to it's highest level ever. Not something I would expect from such a budget cutting, tax slaying man, but I approve. LOL

I agree with was lame to bring up Trump.
I also think it was a lame question. I think it gives us a lesson in jumping the gun with alleged crimes, but really it was just too juicy not to jump on and how could we possibly know he was making it all up? Our first instinct would be to naturally take it at face value and be outraged.
Why would they have regrets? I have no regrets but respect the verdict and the system and understand he was lying. My reaction wasn't wrong though.
Perhaps it is a lesson in understanding what "alleged" means and maybe we should settle down a bit when a crime of this nature is alleged.
I'm sorry, but I'm a bit ignorant. Would someone explain to me what "shock troops" are. This is my first time hearing of them. Sounds to me, as usual, Steve Bannon is a bit mental.
QuoteIt's fresh and it's new. This is Trumpism in power. That's when we went to the 4,000 shock troops we have to have that's going to man the government. Get them ready now. Right?" Bannon said. "We're going to hit the beach with the landing teams and the beachhead teams and all that nomenclature they use when President Trump wins in 2024 — or before."

I’m not sure what’s more troubling—your initial comments or the fact that you have no qualms about making them.

Well, did they make a mistake?
This country is very forgiving if you just own up your mistakes and say you learned something.

What's getting swept under the rug a bit is that it wasn't just a alleged crime. But that Democrats and the media ran with it so eagerly because it was Trump supporters who committed the alleged crime.
The story was a bit outrageous. It should have been met with a skeptical eye in the first place.
So, yes. They should have regrets. Or explain why they don't.
19 hours ago, Beerman said:I'm pretty sure it has a source for the data. Where did you get the graph from?
It's cartoonist because you can't extract any specific data from it. What was the unemployment for September 2015?
I'm pretty sure the number it increased to under Trump was still lower than it was in the 8 years under Obama.
Here’s the source of the chart: https://www.tampabay.com/opinion/2020/10/23/a-chart-of-unemployment-under-trump-and-obama-tells-quite-a-tale-column/
