Strange.

What's strange is that you expect immigrants to peruse the same periodicals that we do. 

Immigrants actually treat their families quite differently from us in my experience. They appear to be more close to each other.

I saw a movie last night and something hit me. I know this isn't topical news but for tax payer dollars interest. 

The detectives in the movie got a patsy in the case for the crime when they couldn't solve it and were under pressure. And that took the pressure off and they moved on to another case. They also got promoted and commended. 

I just realized that very likely lots of cases are placed in the solved column to appease the statistics and actually allow them using tax dollars, to not actually do any work. Too many studies to include but essentially America only solves about 14% of its crimes with a budget that far exceeded numerous nations lumped together, all funded by tax payers! 

When you think about how many govt Depts are doing exactly the same. Look at our roads, bridges, trains etc and we think capitalism is working?

Top 50 billionaires own more than the bottom 130 million people! 50 people own more than 130 million people!

Companies paying no taxes!

That means less than you are paying! 

That means a CEO making over $40 million from a company paying no taxes that raked in billions in profits. No taxes! 

In my opinion Salesforce should suffer the greatest consequences because this is an appalling company with the worst business practices! 

Hides everything!

And who do you think makes the policies re: the tax statutes. This has been going on for years and years and years. If the government wanted to fix this they could. This is why I keep saying our fight is not with each other but with the government (as a whole, both parties) and elites. IMO, neither has our (we the people) backs!

Exactly, the gov is either incompetent or corrupt (or perhaps both!) Although, that fact does not really have anything to do with Capitalism per se.

Essentially our fight is with each other for electing the morons in the first place. Trump dropped corporate taxes to 21% and with tax dodges and lawyers, probably only paid around 10%. Remember Mitt Romney? Trump also gave so much pork and deregulations to companies for reinvestment, except they just bought back their own stock and inflated their prices, so they actually made themselves richer because almost every CEO gets stock options as part of their deal.

The govt is corrupt and it's 90% of the republicans! Ted Cruz just recently admitted on television exactly that, when he said that it was pay to play, because republicans was not going to support bills giving companies their incentives.

This is something we should take seriously. You can read the article in the Economist. 

So I don't mean to offend anyone but I noticed that a few of the nurses in the forum are retired. Doesn't it burn your shorts that you have to pay so much for medicines when NONE OF THE INDUSTRIALIZED COUNTRIES have to do so because OUR COUNTRY is the ONLY ONE that doesn't allow the govt to negotiate drug prices because of Pharma lobbyists? 

What about your dental and vision care? Doesn't it just drive you insane it isn't provided after all of your years working and paying taxes? 

I'm addressing this because of an older patient the other night who's admitted for depression and we were chatting and he doesn't have any dentures and an old pair of glasses, because he can't afford either because of how much he has to pay for medicines. He can't afford a hearing aid also. 

Worked all his life driving trucks and wiped out with one medical bill that took his house and savings! They are threatening to garnish his pension now.
