When does " don't know any better" become idiocy? How much latitude should we give them when they are a public health menace?
Indeed.
Even beyond converting, how do you even have a dialog with people who are completely absorbed in propaganda, falsehoods and fantastical thinking about an array of subjects? From covid to politics, there is an alarming number of Americans who only know what a very narrow media diet allows them to know. It takes no time at all in a conversation to run up against beliefs that are not based in facts or evidence. You can't discuss political dishonesty with people who can't discern truth from lies. You can't discuss foreign policy with people who believe that unilaterally breaking treaties and multinational agreements is evidence of cogent or comprehensive policy. It's impossible to discuss immigration with people who can't even recognize or acknowledge basic realities, like the lies about the border wall or the zero tolerance policy of Jeff Sessions that intentionally separated children from families for punitive purposes.
In normal times discussion could begin with shared truths...there is little in the way of shared truth in the Trump era of conmen, grifters and charlatans.

Check out this guy Anton Lazzorro a prominent Minnesota GOP donor is doing a Matt Gaetz and would you believe it he even knows trump! Guess all these guys know each other like an underground network or something?
Do you think that they are just inadequate around grown women and that's why they make those choices?
Texas abortion law is useless republican tripe as usual!
As usual with republicans who are pretty much just reactive and always leaving themselves open to ridicule, Lawrence Tribe have actually found Supreme Court precedent to overturn their medieval thinking.
I imagine that all of the Dog bounty hunters types who were just gleefully rubbing their hands and counting the money they would make and Texas republicans were adjusting their budget re how the state coffers would be overflowing with riches from private prison contracts or right wing corporate donations or whatever dark money sources etc and they were celebrating their nefarious fame, SCREECHHHH, HALLLTT,
They just never see the big picture! Instead of grinding out the Afghan thing, Texas changed the narrative and galvanized women like never before AND they opened themselves up to so much scrutiny, also the right wing Supreme Court Justices now has a lens trained on them. All of their recent underhanded late night decisions are now going to be scrutinized. Kavanaugh's rape is in the limelight again along with Clarence Thomas and Barratt's appointment with every case contested by the Justice dept.
And they will never win with Lawrence Tribe's arguments set 50 years ago!

If that's true, it's an example of a rich man thinking he's above the law because he's rich. Hope he gets his just rewards.

I believe you're correct. As I pointed out in the other post that there are plenty of women that support Texas and abortion bans, some in my own family, however there might just be a tsunami like not seen since the women's march's of the 70's.
Also, while men agains Texas are letting women take the lead there are plenty of them as well. Plus there are plenty of people against abortion in their personal lives, or in principal such as myself, but don't want to take away a women's right to choose. The resistance is huge.
I marched in the last women's march as an ally and feminist in 2017 and intend on being there for the next if I'm not working.

Consider this, if white men feel such disdain for white women to enact such laws, think about what they have done to Native American women or to black women? How they hyper sexualize Asian women and in general how they treat all women?
I honestly don't know what to say about men in general that disregard other people like this, because it's apparently most men, given the chance to control women will do so. The Taliban, Isis, the Russians, Africans, Indians, they all engage in these reprehensible behaviors!
I just don't know why they want the responsibility to control other people? It's not all of us by the way!

I never understood how sending out actual unrequested ballots across the board could possible be part of a safe system and think it would pre-empt the the criticism that the losing side makes.
