Nurses LPN/LVN
Published May 28, 2015
I'm starting nursing school and I have had others tell me that LPN don't make but like $10.00 an hour. And I'm thinking they are way wrong I. What they are saying.

I keep hearing that a lot of hospitals won't hire new grad RN's.Would preference be given to those new grads that started from the bottom? CNA > LPN > RN > BSN?

I'd like to know, as well. Thanks for asking that question.

Some of the posts on this thread are scaring the bejeezus out of me. I am not going through all the stupid crap that comes with school to get a not even $1 an hour raise!

Wow, you guys make more than a new grad RN here in PA...
It is not! I'll post the job with the pay. Y'all need to stop selling this young lady false dreams telling her LPN's make the amount y'all are saying.

Who exactly are you speaking to? I'm not selling anyone false dreams.
I most certainly made the money I did as a new grad LPN in CT. However, the cost of living in CT is much higher than most places in the Nation. The minimum wage in CT starting Jan 1, 2015 is now $9.15/hr. There are only 3 other States with a higher minimum wage than us (Oregon, Washington and Washington DC) and one the same as ours (Vermont). Yes, I made more as an LPN in CT than some do as RNs in other places. I also make more as an RN in CT than others do in other places.
