  1. Hey sometimes it just takes another try!! When you want something bad enough you keep going until you get where you want to be. Good luck to you I hope this year goes great for you.
  2. You have been very busy as well this summer!! Same here all but getting my books I don't when we can get ours. I go to orientation this Thursday so I'm hoping I can get my books soon so I can get a feel of what we will be doing. And I to have also been trying to organize my life, I have three little girls at home so praying I can keep me and them organized lol. Good luck to you in nursing school!!!
  3. Hey guys and gals its almost time for everyone to start your program. What is everyone doing to prepare yourself, what supplies have you been stocking up on..etc. I hope you all are doing well. I know I'm excited/ scared to death but so ready to start!!!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
  4. I start at TCAT in September, and I'm so excited/ scared to death. But ready to get this ball rolling!!
  5. So glad that I can relate to someone, I did the same thing. I have wasted the last four years with being a CMA I love that it opened the doors for me showing me that I want to be a nurse. I even went as far as getting my degree in medical assisting and being told that it would make a difference in pay. But it doesn't!! So I then knew that I had to change my path to nursing. I start nursing school in September for my LPN. I just wish I had done nursing in the first place. Good luck to you.
  6. Hey what TCAT program did you apply for?
  7. Thank you so much, I'm the same way I learn so different than others I'm a hands on person that has to did it a few times until I get it. That's like with studying for anything I have to write out notes word for word of what I need to know until I get it. I never studied in high school for anything and then in college I had to learn how to study. The older I get it feels like it takes my brain longer to take in information lol.
  8. Thank you, yes it is very hard when you have a parent that is addicted to drugs and when another parent is not around. So sorry for the loss of your father. You are very right we have whole hell if a lot of courage and perseverance that will lead of both too successful careers as nurses. Thank you so so much
  9. Thank you so much for sharing your story with me, that is amazing that you found your passion for nursing through volunteering. I understand what you mean by getting test scores up it took me some time as well and I start in September!!! I'm so excited for you as well sometimes life throws us some curve balls but we learn to deal with it and move on. My road to where I am today has not been easy one but I have made it this far. And just like you said failure is NOT an option!!. Good luck to you we will be great nurse's!! :)
  10. Thank you so much for sharing you amazing story with me, that is wonderful that you found your passion for nursing through the birth of your son. You will be a great and wonderful nurse.
  11. I sure have lol, thank you so much!!
  12. Thank you all so much to everyone that has posted and gave me advice and information on your pay rate for your job and the area that you are in. I'm just taking small steps in my nursing career, I was the girl that came from a very poor family with a single mom that became addicted to drugs and a father that never played the part he was suppose too. To being moved around from one place to another. To being raised by grandfather, and being told I would never graduate highschool. But I did and I did all that even though I lost my mother when I was 18 to a drug overdose, and losing a baby all the same week. Then finding out I was pregnant again graduating highschool 9 months pregnant. And going on and working as a CNA, and then having another child and then going back to school to start on medical assisting. Then becoming pregnant with my last child and still going to school full time all while taking care of my three girls. And then graduating with my degree in medical assisting. And then now starting nursing school in the fall. I know it has taken me some time to get where I am today, and when I start something I don't stop!! And don't give up to easily. So this girl may have started out small but I'm going to reach the top one day. nursing is something I'm very passionate about and love and I want to be that advocate for that patient that can not talk for themselves or that little girl that is watching her mommy or daddy abusing drugs and no one listening to her. I'm not in for the pay, I know it helps to make good money. But I'm truly in because I want to go to work every day and know that I love my job and love what I'm doing.
  13. Thank you so much for your advice and words of encouragement. You have truly brightened my day, bless you.
  14. Thank you so much for saying this so glad I'm not the only one that has had to put up with this. You don't know how much this helps me, Just like when I started out as a CNA then CMA those where starting points in my healthcare career. And now LPN is my next step, it my take some time to get to where I want to be in nursing but each step of the way is a starting point. And the way I see it is nursing is not just about the pay its all in what you do for others help change a life or make a difference in someone's life. Good luck to you as well.
  15. Thank you so much, for the information that you have provided. I'm hoping to further my education in nursing, and get my BSN. But just seeing where god sends me for now.
