What is passing for your nursing program?

Published

My school upped the required passing grade from a c+ to a b- which is a min of a 80 for nursing classes. No C=nurse here. Anyone else's school require a higher C for passing?

In high school a 70 was a C and an 80 was a B. In my program an 80 is a C, which is passing. Anything below is failing. We have to get at least a level 2 on all ATI proctored exams. And I believe we have to maintain either a 2.5 or 2.7 gpa, so we can't just scrape by on the bare minimum either. We must pass all check offs within 3 attempts as well as get a satisfactory in clinical (we can move forward with marginal, but it puts on probation the following semester where we absolutely must get a satisfactory or we fail).

In my program it is a 70% or C-. I think it is completely ridiculous to not have a higher standard.

75% or higher on theory and clinical. Dosage exam 100%.

All classes 78% or higher.

B's are needed for mine. 79.5% to be exact

I'm in an ADN/BSN concurrent program. The ADN program at the community college I attend requires a 76% on proctored tests ONLY. None of the other assignments are even factored in until you reach the 76%. The BSN at the university I attend requires a 78%.

At my college you have to get at least 80s on all your tests, exams, quizzes and maintain an 80% average total for these before all other classwork, homework is incorporated. Also, have to have at least a 90% on the dosage exams.

We have a min 80% average in classes (no rounding) and 100% on dosage

Specializes in Hospice.

For my msn program 87 %

No way... That's crazy high!

Specializes in Psych, IV antibiotic therapy med-surg/addictions.

87%? Holy cow, I would be dismissed! My school is 74% no rounding. Drug calcs 90% 3 tries.

It was very stressful but I guess for graduate school it should have high standards
