  1. As quick as 15-16 hours. My friend took hers on a Monday at 1pm and results were posted when she looked at 7am the next day. I took mine yesterday later morning and the results were posted when I checked early this morning!
  2. MCC has no wait at all currently. I'm in Block 4 at MCC and that's what the admin has told us. :) Good luck!
  3. I just started Block 4 of the MCC/NAU program and I graduate in December. It's a great program and I highly recommend it to everyone I talk to that's interested in it. Many of our teachers, nurses, nurse managers, and more have told us that they prefer people who have graduated from the CEP program because they are much more prepared than just ADN students. When I applied, the CEP program was "competitive entry" but everyone who met the minimum qualifications got in because there was enough spots for everyone. Unfortunately, that's not the case anymore. As of last semester, they received more applications than they had spots for and had to deny some people who still met the minimum qualifications. This info is on the Maricopa Nursing website. It doesn't list the cutoff that they made as far as GPA/HESI scores though. Hope this helps you make your decision. Good luck!!
  4. If you apply in January 2017, you would start the university courses Summer 2017 and Block 1 Fall 2017. If you applied May 2017, you would start the university courses Fall 2017 and Block 1 Spring 2018. :)
  5. Sorry I just now saw this! My HESI was 96% Math and 91% English. I honestly don't remember my GPA but believe it was around 3.5. But I would not rely on that because I was accepted over 2 years ago and I graduate this fall. 6. I'm so sorry - I just now saw this! I'm so glad you were accepted! That's wonderful news! If you are AM, the instructor is amazing! I love her and could not have passed Block 2 without her! They don't offer the blocks during the summer at MCC (although they are currently doing a summer Block 3 for the students who failed due to our block being the last for the old curriculum) so I am just in NAU classes over the summer. I start Block 4 in August along with my last two NAU classes! What are you doing for the summer? I would study everything you can as much as you can stand it! Do lots of NCLEX questions too! :)
  7. I applied for the CEP program on 5/20/14 I believe with an MCC start of Spring 2015. I received my acceptance letter via email on 5/29/14. I began NAU classes August 2014 and they ended October 2014. I started Block 1 along with other NAU classes January 2015. Hope that helps.
  8. Hey there. I just wanted to tell you I'm sorry and that you're not alone. I'm going into Block 4 this fall at MCC in the NAU/MCC CEP (old curriculum). We started with 62 students and have maintained that as they replace the spots each block with those who fail. We had 8 fail Block 1, 10 fail Block 2, and somewhere around 4 fail Block 3. Only 1 failed Block 4 last semester. From everyone I've ever talked to, Block 2 really seems to be the hardest block for most people. It kicked my butt HARD. Some days I still don't know how I survived it. Have you figured out where you are going yet? I wish you luck and the best!
  9. I'm finishing up Block 3 of the MCC/NAU fast track CEP. Honestly, the NAU hasn't been the bulk of the work. Yes, it's extra work, but it's easy (for me anyways). The vast majority of it is weekly discussion posts and responses, papers, and group papers. The time consuming, studying all the time part is the community college portion which you have to do regardless. I'm SO glad I did the CEP program so that I end with an ADN and a BSN. I am burnt out from school. I cannot imagine going back for another 18 months to get my BSN. Nursing school is hard regardless of which program you do. It's going to be one of the hardest things you ever do. I'm lucky that I don't have to work, but a LOT of people in the program do. It's all about time management honestly.
  10. I'm in block 3. Sometimes in block 1, people looked at the power points on their laptops in class but not many in block 2 did that. So far in block 3, I haven't seen anyone do it. The teachers lecture pretty fast so taking notes on a laptop isn't feasible unless you type very quickly. If you are set on getting one, I would definitely recommend a laptop, not a tablet.
  11. The waitlist at MCC is 0 currently, so I would imagine Gateway is the same or no more than one semester for the regular RN program.
  12. They are no longer doing information sessions or application sessions for the CEP programs. They are not doing information sessions because the info is all online on the Maricopa Nursing website. For applying to the CEP program, you just have to be on the waitlist and then go and meet with a nursing advisor and turn in the CEP application. I'm in Block 3 at MCC and got this info myself directly from the MCC Nursing Staff just last week when I was asking for a friend. :) Also, Fall 2016 CEP (with NAU classes beginning Summer 2016) placements have already been made or are in progress. The applications were due about a month ago for that. The next placement will be in May/June and that's for Spring 2017 start (NAU classes beginning Fall 2016).
  13. I'm in southeast Gilbert, pretty close to the CGCC nursing campus but I chose to go to MCC because of the reputation, experiences of my friends, and NCLEX pass rates. I've lucked out with clinicals and been in Gilbert/east Mesa for all of them. I'm in block 3 and going to PCH for peds in a few weeks but that's the farthest I've had to drive. We are lucky and get a choice of several hospitals. I'd do it if it's worth it to you! Good luck!
  14. You have an amazing attitude! Seriously, don't lose that. It will greatly benefit you in nursing school!! :)
  15. I'm in an ADN/BSN concurrent program. The ADN program at the community college I attend requires a 76% on proctored tests ONLY. None of the other assignments are even factored in until you reach the 76%. The BSN at the university I attend requires a 78%.
