What motivates you to go to work every day?

Published

In this tough economic time I'm so grateful to have a full time job. However, there are just days like today I rather stay in bed. I often have to remind myself of the rewards of working and things I can do with the money I will make. Here are just a few things that gives me that extra motivation to get up and get ready for work:

1) I need to work to first pay my bills

2) I'm getting married in 6 months and have a TON of things to pay off for the wedding

3) There are so many new grads and experienced nurses without jobs

4) I actually like helping people

Okay, so what gives you that extra umph to roll out of bed and get to work?

Pretty much what everyone else says, because they pay me to do so.

I think it's safe to say after twelve responses (and mine at #13) that we work because we need the paycheck.

Anything after that's gravy!

I work because I have to. Would much rather be traveling. There is so much "DRAMA" in nursing. I get so tried of rude co-workers, supervisors who don't care, know it all doctors, state regulations, compaining family members . I use to love nursing when I first started, a little burned out, trying a new field of nursing now. So, far things are better, will see how it goes.

I make a difference in someone's life every day.

Trade you.

Dualing alarm clocks.

Each one is set so that there is never more than 3 minutes of snooze-time between smacking the damn things.

A half hour of that nonsense and I'm usually out of bed.
