What was the MOST ridiculous thing a patient came to the ER for?

And did you have to treat them?

I am an ob nurse so I had a patient come to the ob triage with a complaint of her water broke. Her husband was with her and he asked me if the swelling in her ankles could be because her water was leaking and was running down into her ankles !!!!!!!:lol2: :uhoh3:

I swear......sometimes people just amaze me at how dumb they are.

I mean, I know I say dumb things sometimes, that make me wanna go :smackingf , but there are people in this world that just do not have a clue.

I've had some not so dumb people ask me questions like this; as I'm trying to figure out how to educate them, I'll just be standing there.... Finally, I just come up with, "Umm, no".

There's no way you can capsulate all the health education they shoulda got in school into 25 words or less.

Hope he had a callback feature on his phone. Wonder how he would explain the missed phone call... especially if it was someone like his boss.

All the staff in A&E at the time wanted to get his mobile number, so we could give him a BUZZ, it kept us all buzzing all night. (We never did ring him).

I had a mother bring her teenage son because he was tired. I ask her if he had tired sleeping. Guess what the doctor ask her the same thing. D/C instruction - Sleep. :uhoh3:

a mom brought her teenage daughter in the other night with c/c: afraid of the snow (that wasn't even sticking to the ground!). we just had them hang out until it quit snowing (which is never too long here) and sent them home. really, what did they expect us to do? call up god and ask him to change the weather????

Oh wow. A patient, I am assuming, who never bothered with prenatal care.???

I had a patient today come in with the primary complaint of r knee arthritis, and also told us that she needed some shampoo so that she could wash her hair. When gave her our lovely $50 shampoo, and she said, oh, I can't use that I'm allergic.....WE told her that she could go down the street to the Dollar Store, but we didn't have any other shampoo in the hospital

We had a little girl about 4 years old bring in her puppy and asked if we could fix his leg (he had a tiny cut on his leg)

The puppy got the best dressing you ever saw and the mother got a phone call.
