I've seen so many different login names and have often wondered why people have come up with some of the crazy nicknames they have. Is it just something to put down; or, is it something that means a lot to them or describes them to a "t"?
Ok, I'll go first. The month I was born, my parents had a cat who had a litter of Maine coon cats. They kept one kitten and decided to call him TC. Why, you ask? Because those two letters could represent a vast variety of nicknames based on the type of day or attitude this kitty would have.
At times, my parents would call him Terrific Cat, Tremendous Cat, Tricky Cat, Time-consuming Cat. Others were not so endearing such as; Terrible Cat, Tyrannical Cat, Taunting Cat...etc. You get my drift.
Anyway, you wonder where I get my nickname based on this info?
You see, when I decided to go into nursing, my husband smiled and raised his eyebrows and said, "Hmmm...Naughty Nurse Nikki, eh?" I quickly shot him a look and said, "Why not Nice Nurse Nikki?" What ensued over the course of years in nursing school was much like what my cat TC had experienced. I've been referred to as Naughty Nurse Nikki, Nice Nurse Nikki, Nasty Nurse Nikki, Nimble Nurse Nikki, Notorious Nurse Nikki, Noble Nurse Nikki, Needy Nurse Nikki, Neurotic Nurse Nikki, Newbie Nurse Nikki, and now that I work Nights...I am Noc Nurse Nikki.
So take the nickname you choose, and run with it! That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
NNNikki
p.s. "...but ya doesn't have to call me johnson!";)
I am from Louisiana, where the symbol of Cajun French culture is the fleur-de-lis. I also have one tattoo'd on my ankle :wink2: It is starting to be a popular symbol in decor and jewelry/clothing right now, which kinda ticks me off because it used to be "my thing". It is also the symbol for the New Orleans Saints!

My dad's initials are ARW. When I was being named, they knew my first name would be Alison, and decided to give me an "R" middle name so we could have the same initials. They pulled Rachel out of thin air. The initial thing must have worked, because I've been daddy's girl all my life; I actually just got a tattoo that symbolizes that bond. (I'm such a cornball.)
My mum calls me AliRae to differentiate me from the aunt I'm named after. Incidentally, it's also become the moniker for my side-job photography business.

My name? From experience as a patient [i'm used to being the nurse]&found that nurses can be judgemental and jump to conclusions instead of assessing the actual situation AND prejudice the others against you. Apparently neurosurgery floor RNs never learned that methadone can be used to treat chronic pain also--instead they decided that I must be 'hooked' on meds and withheld them from me after surgery. Now I'm trying to get as many nurses as I can to realize that RSD [reflex sympatheic dystrophy--now called CRPS chronic regional pain syndrome] is very painful especially if you have to have your deep brain stimulation removed due to hospital acquired infection [methyline resistant staph EPI deep inside my surgical wound], so please help spread the word that methadone is NOT just for detox any more... and pain IS all in your head because that's where the pain registers...no head, no pain... this way my disaster can hopefully help others to avoid the torture that I had to endure. Thanks :-)
