I've seen so many different login names and have often wondered why people have come up with some of the crazy nicknames they have. Is it just something to put down; or, is it something that means a lot to them or describes them to a "t"?
Ok, I'll go first. The month I was born, my parents had a cat who had a litter of Maine coon cats. They kept one kitten and decided to call him TC. Why, you ask? Because those two letters could represent a vast variety of nicknames based on the type of day or attitude this kitty would have.
At times, my parents would call him Terrific Cat, Tremendous Cat, Tricky Cat, Time-consuming Cat. Others were not so endearing such as; Terrible Cat, Tyrannical Cat, Taunting Cat...etc. You get my drift.
Anyway, you wonder where I get my nickname based on this info?
You see, when I decided to go into nursing, my husband smiled and raised his eyebrows and said, "Hmmm...Naughty Nurse Nikki, eh?" I quickly shot him a look and said, "Why not Nice Nurse Nikki?" What ensued over the course of years in nursing school was much like what my cat TC had experienced. I've been referred to as Naughty Nurse Nikki, Nice Nurse Nikki, Nasty Nurse Nikki, Nimble Nurse Nikki, Notorious Nurse Nikki, Noble Nurse Nikki, Needy Nurse Nikki, Neurotic Nurse Nikki, Newbie Nurse Nikki, and now that I work Nights...I am Noc Nurse Nikki.
So take the nickname you choose, and run with it! That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

p.s. "...but ya doesn't have to call me johnson!";)
I'm a Junior Year RN student, but I am crashing b/c I thought this was a fun topic.
My Freshman year at my school, I wanted to get involved in everything before I had to disappear and become the invisible nursing student. So I went all out during our yearly medieval fest. I took part in a live chess game, dressed in what I considered to be a very medieval outfit. Afterwards, a friend told me I looked like a gypsy instead -- especially with my fondness for long, dangly earrings and my dark hair.
I was referred to a gypsy after that and a mere acquaintance called me Esmeralda at one point.
So, since my school is Franciscan University, I am the FranciscanGypsy! :smiletea:

n. pl. bi-joux (-zhōō', -zhōōz')
a small, exquisitely wrought trinket.
i used to sell jewelry and wanted something relate-able to another screen name and everthing usual was taken so, i found that bijou was very accessable. i'm far from delicate and exquisite but finding and giving kindnesses are small treasures.
well CT stands for the State I live in and the Pixie is the nickname my beloved Grandmother gave me when I was little. She always said I was a little imp..her little Pixie girl. When I grew up (all 4ft 11 inches of me) she would laugh and say she jinxed me calling me Pixie all my life and thats why I never cleared 5ft (all my family members are at least over 5 ft)..I am living Pixie Fairy she'd say.
When I had my daughter 2 months premature, she looked at the teeny tiny bundle that was my daughter (her 1st great grandchild..sadly, the only one she lived to see) and said.."Pix, she's tinier than what you were when you were born. She's the tiniest baby I've ever seen, what can we call her?? Is there anything tinier than a Pixie ?" We never did get a nickname for my daughter, Gramma passed before we could...

Hi!
My first name is Dan and I ride an R1100RT motorcycle. Hence: dan1100rt
A lot of the impetus to change careers to Nursing due to my involvement on the motorcycle crews of a great many long-distance fundraising bicycle rides. I observed the compassion and expertise of the medical crews and realized that I wanted to be part of it.
